Now that Capcom has officially confirmed the existence of Resident Evil 3 Remake, fans have something to look forward to in April 2020. Although the remake has only received a trailer and a few new screenshots (that show the amazing overhaul it went through), it appears that Capcom isn’t done just yet. Apparently, there is a connection with the remake and Resident Evil 2 that players can find in their games that unlocks a newly added achievement....

Capcom has finally confirmed the much-rumoured Resident Evil 4 remake for a March 24 release next year. The announcement came at the start of the latest State of Play broadcast with a suitably sinister trailer. Leon, Ashley, Ada Wong and the creepy Spanish village are all present and correct. Of course, everything looks very modern and shiny thanks to the RE: Engine. We didn’t get a taste of gameplay, but there’s definitely a Resident Evil Village look to proceedings....

After a few hints and teases, Echo has been revealed as the next playable hero for Overwatch. Blizzard describes her as follows: “An evolutionary robot programmed with a rapidly adapting artificial intelligence, Echo represents the cutting edge of technology.” Echo was already a known character in the Overwatch universe; the question was simply when she’d finally be playable. Persona 5 Strikers has brought a host of changes to the popular franchise. The game has seen an upgrade in its gameplay along with new in-game mechanics. This has given the game a similar yet different vibe all rolled up in one. While some in-game features there are various new things such as the Bond System as well as new characters. Some of the more irritating Requests in Persona 5 Strikers are the ones that task you with finding a hidden Desire in a dungeon you’ve already cleared. You’re normally given a vague hint as to where it is, but as they appear to be identical to the general loot pickups you find, you still need to look around an awful lot to actually find them. A petition to save cancelled toys-to-life franchise Disney Infinity has gained the support of almost 10,000 fans since launching two weeks ago. The petition, which was started by 13-year old Disney Infinity fan Tim Wanders, asks Disney to re-consider their plans to kill off the franchise and for others to show their support to help “save Disney Infinity”. “We need to save this amazing game!” Tim says. “Help me to save Disney Infinity!...

PlayStation, Xbox and Ubisoft are among the 21 games companies pledged to Playing for the Planet, an initiative from the United Nations asking that the games industry make a formal commitment to confront climate change in their practices (via MCV). Following the Sustainable Development Goals, Playing for the Planet recommends that companies in the games industry avoid wasteful packaging, encourage energy-saving behaviours from their players, and reward each other for pledges or actions that safeguard the environment....

Pokémon Home might have leaked the first official look at Gigantamax Melmetal, coming to Pokémon Sword & Shield (via Twitter). Home launched yesterday, and offers a cloud storage service to transfer Pokémon to and from Pokémon Sword & Shield, Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!, Pokémon Go, and Pokémon Bank. The “Professor” Grand Oak wants the entire National Pokédex to be filled out by the player, and Home has entries for all Pokémon from Generations 1 to 8....

Pokémon Sword and Shield have officially been out for almost a month now and fans are still ardently playing the games every day. Despite some of the negative buzz surrounding the game’s bigger changes, many game fans have found plenty to enjoy. The Wild Area, in particular, has been a big hit with most trainers. Between surprise trades, shiny-hunting, and plenty of new Pokémon to catch, people have made some hilarious memes and jokes about specific aspects of the games....

Raids have become a major aspect of Pokemon GO since they were first introduced. Raids are (somewhat) cooperative battles located at gyms. Players take turns attacking the gym with the goal of clearing out the defending Pokemon in order to collect the reward. When participating in these raids, there are several Pokemon that players dread seeing in the defending team or as the raid boss. Most of this is due to many players using the same Pokemon in their attack team (like Machamp), which leads to the Pokémon who are strong against these fan favorites being high on the list of toughest defenders....

Prime Gaming is giving away six games for May 2022. Dead Space 2 leads the pack of free-ish games, and is arguably the best of the horror trilogy. It’ll be good to have that in the bag ahead of the Dead Space remake, due sometime next year. Cat Quest is an open-world RPG starring a ferocious feline, and it received high praise on release. Other games in the list include The Curse of Monkey Island, which should fit well with all the other Monkey Island games on the service....

For a game that took 14 years to make, the last thing 2K Games or Gearbox Software want to tell the gaming public is that Duke Nukem Forever is going to be delayed one last time. Unfortunately, through a comical announcement yesterday, that’s exactly what Gearbox president Randy Pitchford had to do. The lighthearted announcement trailer aside, Pitchford didn’t keep it a secret that this was not what they wanted for the title, especially with its long history of delays and cancellations....

Hi-Rez Studios has apparently decided the world needs another battle royale title doing the rounds, as it’s bringing its own take on the genre, Realm Royale, to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The free to play title features five different classes to select from, namely an Assassin, Engineer, Hunter, Mage, and Warrior. Each one has its own unique attributes, so you’re sure to find something that tickles your fancy. While there are the usual modern firearms such as shotguns and sniper rifles to pick from, Realm Royale also offers up a bunch of fantasy-inspired weaponry, so you can go mental with crossbows, swords, and staffs if you fancy a change....
