It’s becoming a weekly tradition for Pokémon GO to have some sort of event. There was a time when fans complained that there wasn’t enough content, and Niantic’s response was to provide these regular mini-events focusing on different aspects of the game. This time it’s raids, and trainers will be teaming up to get some new shiny Pokémon. In what’s being called “Extraordinary Raid Week,” Pokémon GO trainers will see an increase in raids from May 21st to May 28th....

A Pokémon event called Art through the Ages will be open in Manchester next month. The art experience was teased on the Pokémon UK Twitter yesterday, inviting visitors to The Trafford Centre to join in a community art project. Those stopping by gained more information on Art through the Ages - which has now been detailed officially. From 17th October to 13th November, Art through the Ages will be held at The Trafford Centre....

Quantic Dream announced that the company is now totally independent, fulfilling an ambition that the studio has held for a long time and enabling new opportunities to arise (via Quantic Dream). Established in 1997, CEO and director David Cage and co-CEO and head of publishing Guillaume de Fondaumière reflected on Quantic Dream’s achievements over the years in an announcement on its blog. “It would be impossible to mention all the extraordinary artists and creators we have had the good fortune to work with, but each and everyone has been a special collaboration and a unique moment in our 23-year journey,” read the post....

Dontnod Entertainment and Capcom have released another slice of gameplay footage from the memory-mashingRemember Me. This time, we get to see heroine Nilin (a former “elite memory hunter”) doing a spot of combo-creation in an arena style combat situation. Combo-creation? Yep. Using bits and pieces called ‘pressens’, she can construct combo attacks that will, at the same time, regenerate health, cause more damage or reduce the cooldown period on other, stand-alone skills (such as ‘Rust in Pieces’ that confuses robots)....

It may seem like it, but Diablo Immortal isn’t the first mobile Diablo game to be presented as an April Fool’s joke. At last week’s BlizzCon, Diablo fans were shocked, disappointed, and then angry at Blizzard’s big reveal at the Diablo main state. The next big Diablo game will not be Diablo 4, which is still in development, but instead be a mobile game called Diablo Immortal. It was a remarkably obtuse move for Blizzard, who have historically been perhaps the most renowned of all PC and console game developers....

Resident Evil 7 will support HDR visuals on Xbox One S, Capcom confirmed today. In a release addressing the 3 million downloads of the PS Plus exclusive Resident Evil 7 demo, Capcom also reaffirmed support for PS4 Pro. “The full game will be compatible with the PlayStation 4 Pro, allowing the immersive gameplay to be experienced in high-resolution, luxuriant 4K with rich visuals only HDR can deliver,” explained Capcom. “Similarly, with HDR support on the Xbox One S, players can enjoy gameplay in Full HD that offers realism that can almost be felt....

Ron Gilbert’s latest foray into the swashbuckling world of Guybrush Threepwood and co is going to be making its way to the Nintendo Switch as well as PC. Return to Monkey Island is slated to release sometime this year, and come to consoles first via Nintendo Switch. We have been given some nice titbits of information about its upcoming release, including that it will be starting off at an amusement park (where Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge concluded), but the team has been keeping its cards close to its chest in terms of story and trailer reveals....

Returnal is a game of perpetual change by its very essence and genre. Selene returns to the Helios crash site at the start of the game each time she dies. Any roguelike should expect to lose some things, but it’s also a half roguelike, which means there are some permanent modifications that carry through between runs. When she dies, she doesn’t keep any of her belongings, but there is some lasting gear in Returnal....

Ubisoft has announced upcoming open world extreme sports title Riders Republic will be opening the doors to its beta between 23 and 25 of August. Promising a first hands-on with the game’s three disciplines —Bikes, Snow Tricks and Air Sports— players will get to ride in parties of up to five. Events in the beta include 50-Rider Mass Races, Tricks Battle, Free for All and Versus Mode. Those who want to get their foot (or spoke/board/wingsuit etc) in the door can sign up now on the official beta website....

This Riverdale review contains spoilers. Riverdale Season 3 Episode 21 “I’m going to have to dig up Jason’s body, aren’t I?” Yes Jughead, you are. And the coffin of Jason Blossom — whose murder (or was it?) kicked off Riverdale in the first place — was indeed empty. This is arguably the biggest reveal in the game-changing penultimate episode of this season, one crammed with deliciously ridiculous twists that lead viewers to believe that anything could happen in next week’s finale....

First they judged and abused Jughead because he wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Then they tormened him by burying him alive. Plus, the instructors there, especially Mr. Dupont, toy with Jug’s emotions by flip-flopping their behavior towards him....

The release of Overwatch: Legendary Edition on the Nintendo Switch has been lost amongst the backlash surrounding Blizzard and the controversy the company is currently involved in related to the Hong Kong protests. A release event for the game was even canceled due to the questionable decisions that Blizzard has made and the fan outcry that followed, including, but not limited to the #BoycottBlizzard hashtag. What should have been a really fun moment for Overwatch fans and Switch owners is now merely an afterthought....
