Atlus has announced (via Dualshockers) that its much-celebrated JRPG, Persona 5, has now shipped 1.5 million copies worldwide. PES 2017 will receive its first public hands-on at next month’s Gamescom, Konami has announced. The demo will let players get to grips with the game’s “incredible new control elements” and check out its “new standard of visual realism”, and will be playable at Konami’s booth in Hall 8.1. An “extensive range” of Yi-Gi-Oh! titles will also be showcased at the event, too, Konami says, where the publisher has plans to host a dedicated Yu-Gi-Oh!...

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX reigns supreme in the UK physical sales charts, shunting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from its pride of place (via GamesIndustry.biz). It appears that late January’s offerings on Xbox Game Pass have leaked a little earlier than planned. That’s thanks to an image hosted on the Xbox Wire found by Video Games Chronicle. It reveals the full list of games expected over the next couple of weeks, although we’re missing exact dates until the official announcement. First up is Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, with the game arriving on Xbox consoles for the first time alongside PC and Cloud today....

Rainbow Six Siege’s closed multiplayer beta has been extended by three days to Thursday, October 1, Ubisoft has announced. The beta had previously been due to end later today. The multiplayer beta offers access to three game modes – TDM Bomb, TDM Secure Area and online/offline Terrorist Hunt – but has faced major issues with matchmaking, preventing many players from being able to find online games. Judging by the Rainbow Six Twitter account, the game has also been hit by server degradation and outages across PS4, Xbox One and PC, too....

Resident Evil Village or RE8 is an interesting game with mind-boggling puzzles, intimidating characters, and a scary persona. The game has a typewriter that acts as the save point. Whenever you find one you can manually save your game. Otherwise, as you complete the different main missions the game auto-saves the progress. You will see a tiny typewriter sign on the bottom left or right of the screen. It indicates your current progress is saved....

Today, developer SEEP and publisher RedDeerGames announced that their retro platformer, Swords & Bones, will be coming to Nintendo Switch in the future. Unfortunately, no concrete release date has been given at this time. Devolver Digital and Terrible Toybox have released the first gameplay footage from upcoming adventure Return to Monkey Island. The footage came as part of today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast. In doing so, it also confirmed that the game will be heading to Nintendo Switch as well as PC. Overwatch players have been complaining so much about what they consider to be a lacklustre Legendary update for Mei – as part of the Winter Wonderland event – that Blizzard has apologised. “Sorry you are disappointed with Mei’s winter skin,” wrote game director Jeff Kaplan. “We don’t have a specific rule for what makes something Legendary or Epic.
