PUBG wants you to check out Deston, “summer’s hottest destination” and the first new map to come to the battle royale since it went free-to-play. Out on 13th July as part of Update 18.2 - initially just for PC, I’m afraid; the console release will follow on 21st July - Deston includes a flooded downtown, a swamp, coastlines, “one of the tallest skyscrapers in the game” as well as the Lodge, the “biggest building ever made” in the game....

Ubisoft has released the full patch notes for this week’s major Rainbow Six Siege update, revealing plans to introduce new customisation options, improve the game’s graphics and fix a number of issues requested by the community. Arriving alongside the Operation Dust Line DLC tomorrow, the update introduces the option to decorate weapons with lucky charms, including a unicorn, mini operators and the Rainbow Six logo. It isn’t yet clear how you can unlock them, but you can check out examples of a few of them in the image below....

The latest operators to arrive in Rainbow Six Siege are the deceptive Iana and the destructive Oryx. Rainbow Six Siege is about to get its 53rd and 54th operators. We previously learned a bit about them thanks to a leak on Reddit last week. Although the leak got Iana’s name wrong, the broad strokes of the new operators were largely confirmed by Ubisoft at The Six Invitational Championship in Quebec last week....

Dontnod has already completed work on a story for a sequel to Remember Me, but it’s up to Capcom to decide whether the game will ever see the light of day, creative director Jean-Maxime Moris has revealed. “I would absolutely love to [work on a sequel],” Moris told Siliconera. “We know what we would do for Remember Me 2. The main story has been written we know what we would add to the recipe....

Sad to say, toxicity is far too frequent in video games these days, not just from the people who play games but those who make them too, and far too often this toxicity is aimed directly at women. It’s a problem that, in many cases, is still in the process of being acknowledged as something that needs to be addressed, but in the case of League of Legends developer Riot Games, things appear to be moving in the right direction at the very least....

The recent BlizzCon 2019 announcement of Overwatch 2 in the works re-sparked my interest in the competitive shooter. The ‘Winter Wonderland’ event introduces over 100 new Christmas-themed cosmetic items for players to unlock, including a Santa suit for Torbjorn and an elf costume for Tracer, along with new icons, sounds and sprays. Maps have been done up for the holidays, too, with Hanamura and King’s Row both being decked out with Christmas decorations, while a new brawl – Mei’s Snowball Offensive – pits 12 players in a snowball fight to the death....

Patapon 2 is getting a remaster and its releasing really soon. Like, this week soon! Having been announced almost three years ago, Sony confirmed this morning that Patapon 2 Remastered is right around the corner. PS4 players will be able to experience the quirky rhythm game on their big-screen TVs starting January 30, 2020. Much like the remaster of the original Patapon back in 2017, Patapon 2 will go for $14....

The game has sold over 10 million copies since its launch in February of 2017 and, if it actually becomes available for PC, will mark a first for Sony where PS4 exclusives are concerned. Sony previously revealed it was willing to consider releasing first-party titles to other platforms in order to reach a wider audience. The statement was made by former Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden following news of the company’s intention to purchase Spider-Man creators Insomniac Games....

An official PS4 bundle containing a copy of PES UEFA Euro 2016 and an extra DualShock 4 controller is coming to Europe next month, Sony has announced. Available from early June, the bundle packs in a black 500GB PS4 console, two DualShock 4 controllers and a physical copy of PES 2016, allowing you to download the Euro 2016 DLC separately. A price has yet to be confirmed. PES 2016’s UEFA Euro 2016 launched as a free download back in March and introduced new tournament branding, an official tournament mode and the Stade de France stadium....

Disney and Pixar have officially confirmed that their upcoming animated coming-of-age pic, Turning Red, will be foregoing a theatrical release in favor of an exclusive launch on the Mouse House’s bespoke streaming service, Disney+, on March 11. A subtle transmission has been received from the outer reaches of social media.
