This month’s issue of PlayStation Magazine UK includes a feature on Resident Evil 3 and some new details for the remake have come out. What everyone assumed, main antagonist Nemesis will feature improved AI from Resident Evil 2’s Mr. X. Seeing as how Nemesis is supposed to be a better version of the Tyrant monster anyway, that makes sense. It should be ridiculously terrifying. A bummer, though, is that the fan-favorite “Mercenaries” mini-game will not be making a return....

PlayStation has announced that it has entered an exclusive publishing partnership with Firewalk Studios to work on an as-yet-unnamed new AAA multiplayer game. Firewalk Studios is headed up by former GM of Destiny Tony Hsu as well Game Director Ryan Ellis who was Creative Director at Bungie and finally Executive Producer Elena Siegman who has credits at Harmonix, Irrational Games and Bungie to her name. Titles the three have previously worked on together aside from Destiny include Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Mass Effect and Halo so they’ve certainly got some great pedigree....

Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2016 conference kicks off this morning at 8am BST, and you can watch all the action below via nifty English language stream. We’re not sure what exactly to expect, but the PS4 Slim and Pro are dead certs to make an appearance. Hopefully Sony will use the show to announce a few more PS4 Pro enhanced titles – Bloodborne, we’re looking at you. And after its latest delay, news of some PS4 Pro enhancements to The Last Guardian would be well received....

It turns out that the Japanese version of the Official Pokémon Sword & Shield Guide had a whole bunch of errors in it. Ever since the very first Pokémon games, the Pokémon Company has always published a companion guide to help players in their journey to become the next Pokémon Champion. Their utility in the days of the internet is questionable, but back in the mid-’90s, these guides were indispensable for learning all of a Pokémon game’s secrets....

For a while now, Pokemon GO players have been speculating about a mysterious Adventure Sync Level 4 reward. News about Adventure Sync Level 4 first popped up thanks to some datamined intel and players have since done further digging to figure out exactly what is needed to unlock the fourth level tier and what kind of rewards might be in store. Today Nintendo released a brand new trailer of the upcoming Pokemon game Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and it’s a big one. The trailer provides an extensive overview of the title, focusing on its world, the way you interact with its many Pokemon, and the many new features included that veteran players of the franchise may not be familiar with. Portal with RTX is an absolute triumph, not just for its masterful use of lighting and cutting-edge technology, but also in how it works - which borders on black magic. This new take on the Valve classic is built on a new framework from Nvidia called RTX Remix, which essentially hijacks older PC games built on a fixed function rendering path, replacing rasterisation with full path tracing. Even motion vectors are added, opening the door to TAA, DLSS and even per-object motion blur support....

According to Power A, the controller is ideal for gamers who desire a more accessible manner of playing their favorite fighting games. The controller borrows inspiration from the Saturn’s gamepad and features a classic, six-button, arcade-style design that’ll keep players in control while “dishing out pain.” The controller also features toggle switches for the d-pad and shoulder buttons that offer players a wide range of diversity to suit their needs. The d-pad’s floating design offers a responsive feel whenever a player executes a move....

PlayStation 4 Neo, a more powerful PS4 console, will still ship this year despite the system not appearing at E3, sources have told Digital Foundry. “Several sources have indicated to me that PlayStation Neo launches this year, despite its E3 no-show,” writes Digital Foundry in an article discussing if 4K is the correct focus for the new systems. Whilst Microsoft closed its E3 conference with the announcement of the six teraflops Xbox One Scorpio, Sony chose not to discuss its new system....

New court documents have confirmed that Sony’s PS4 console sold “twice as many” units as Microsoft’s Xbox One during last-gen’s “console wars”. Confirmation comes via Brazilian court papers wherein Microsoft is defending its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in front of the Brazilian competition authority, CADE. As spotted by GameLuster and translated via Google Translate - so bear with me; this may not be a 100 per cent word-for-word translation - page 17/18 (paragraph 46) of Microsoft’s own published court papers state that “Sony has surpassed Microsoft in terms of console sales and installed [sic] base, having sold more than twice as many Xbox [One units] in the last generation”....

Trophies for an unannounced PS4 version of Inside have surfaced on Exophase. The list follows one month after the game arrived on Xbox One and PC, although there isn’t yet any indication as to when it may arrive on Sony’s platform. There isn’t a platinum trophy, either, in case you’re wondering… Exophase has previously outed numerous PS4 releases ahead of their announcement, including the current-gen versions of Dead Rising, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and South Park: The Stick of Truth....

Map selection is on its way to the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, developer PUBG Corp. has revealed in a new forum post. A firm release date has yet to be confirmed, although the company is targeting a late summer/early fall window for the feature. PUBG Corp. also confirmed that limb penetration is in the works, which basically means you will be able to cause damage to an area of the body that is behind the limb that you actually shot....

Earlier today, it was announced that PUBG was going free-to-play after years of having adopted a traditional paid model. With this new transition, PUBG Studios has introduced various new perks and features that are locked behind a paywall, but most of its features can now be accessed from free. While PUBG certainly used to be the battle royale game that everyone was playing, the genre quickly got dominated by other big players like Epic Games’ Fortnite, Respawn’s Apex Legends, and even the Call of Duty games were doing it, too....

Ubisoft has launched a new lower-priced version of Rainbow Six Siege on PC, allowing players to jump into the online shooter for a lower upfront cost. The Starter Edition, which is available for £11.99 on Steam, provides full access to all of the game’s modes, maps, weapons and progression, along with instant access to up to 4 of the game’s characters. Unlocking the 16 remaining characters, however, requires more grinding than it would in the standard game, with each requiring 12,500 Renown (Rainbow Six Siege’s in-game currency) rather than the 500-2,000 Renown typically needed....

Hollow Knight is one of the best Metroidvania games to see release in a very long time. It took a lot of inspiration from the Dark Souls franchise while managing to carve its own path in the world of video games. As you venture around Hallownest, you’ll encounter many bosses, and very few of them are not punishingly hard. We always love the story of an indie developer creating a smash hit, so we like to talk about Hollow Knight as much as we can....

Razer is currently making and donating surgical masks amidst the coronavirus pandemic. According to the CEO of the hardware manufacturer, Min-Liang Tan, Razer is dedicating part of its production line to manufacturing surgical masks. This effort is part of the company’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Over the past few days, our designers and engineers have been working 24-hour shifts to convert some of our existing manufacturing lines to produce surgical masks so that we can donate them to countries around the world....
