PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been in the wars, and the developer has stated its strategies for remediating these issues in an official blog post (via GameSpot). The battle royale is ticking along with the onset of the sixth season and the new team deathmatch mode, however, the game has been beset with performance problems, only worsening from January onwards. Crashes, frame rate hiccups, and freezing have thrown a spanner in the works of casual and competitive play....

Accessibility options have been added to Quake, 26 years after the original game was released. Last year an enhanced version of the game was released, which Bethesda is continuing to update and support. This third update adds a number of accessibility options, mainly affecting visuals and voice chat. Options like high contrast and an alternate typeface ensure that menus can be more easily read. Players can also customise the amount of screen flashing....

Tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege is receiving a bunch of aesthetic tweaks ahead of the game’s launch in Asian markets, developer Ubisoft has announced. None of the changes will affect gameplay, although it does mean that various references to gambling, sexual content, and violence will be toned down. These include things like slot machines and images of nude women pole dancing. However, the changes allow Ubisoft to streamline its efforts in updating the game on a global basis, rather than having to maintain two different builds....

It seems the team at Volition is trying to get the jump on the upcoming Comic Con news avalanche, promoting their upcoming sequel Red Faction: Armageddon with a new trailer - as well as concept profiles for the Creeper enemy type, Magnet Gun, and Shockwave power. Despite the uninspired launch of Red Faction: Guerilla, THQ is making a big push for the next Red Faction series installment - and judging by this new batch of images and video, there’s certainly reason to be optimistic....

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard won’t be launching on the Nintendo Switch according to the game’s producer, Masachika Kawata. Speaking to the Express, Kawata said, ‘I’m looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.’ Even though Resident Evil 7 won’t be coming to the Switch, Capcom has been named as one of many developers that will be bringing select titles to Nintendo’s next console, launching March 3....

Today, during the Nintendo Direct stream, it was revealed that Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line will drop on Feb. 16, 2023, exclusively for Nintendo Switch. In this rhythm-based RPG centered around the Final Fantasy series, players tap buttons in time with the music to battle enemies in side-scrolling missions. The latest installment announced today, Final Bar Line, is the largest release yet, with 385 iconic songs from the Final Fantasy series. You can check out the official trailer down below....

Ubisoft has announced that extreme sports playground Riders Republic will get a free weekend on consoles starting on Thursday. From February 10 through February 14, players will be able to access the entirety of the full game’s base content for zero charge. Any progress you make during the free period will also carry over to the full game, should you wish to continue. To sweeten the pot, Riders Republic will also have a 50% discount off the usual price....

Overwatch fans have created a ton of art based on the hero-shooter since before its launch, and there doesn’t seem to be an end to their creativity. New Overwatch fan art is released on a daily basis, consisting of everything from paintings to cosplays and now even Pokemon cards featuring Overwatch characters. Reddit user CynicismNostalgia has created an Overwatch/Pokemon crossover card that is styled after the Pokemon GX cards, featuring the tank hero Wrecking Ball....

One cool thing about PAX East 2020 is seeing all the great independent games that are on the horizon. This includes Liberated, a new side-scrolling adventure from the developers at Atomic Wolf. We only caught a glimpse of what it was about last year at the PAX West event, but this weekend, we went hands-on to see how it all comes together. There’s really something magical here, especially for those that appreciate dystopian comic book tales....

Praise Zeus! Disney+ is working on a Percy Jackson TV series. This information comes from about as solid a source as one could hope: Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan himself. Riordan and his wife Becky shared the good news on the former’s Twitter account on May 14. “After a lot of hard work and a lot of support from you guys, Percy Jackson is coming to Disney+,” Riordan told his followers....

Persona fans rejoiced when Persona 5 was given a February 14 release date, but now they will be nursing a broken heart with news that the game has been delayed. Atlus announced that Persona 5 will launch in the US and Europe on the later date of April 4. Wipe away those tears as the delay does come with a silver lining, as explained by Atlus below. “Persona 5 will have dual audio for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4,” announced Atlus....

Those who were hoping to acquire Phoenix Point without needing to use the Epic Games Store will be disappointed to learn that the game is been delayed on both the Microsoft Store and on Game Pass. Phoenix Point is a spiritual successor to the X-COM series. The game was initially funded on the Fig crowdfunding platform, where it received over seven hundred thousand dollars from backers. The Phoenix Point project would go on to receive a further two million dollars as part of an Epic Games Store exclusivity deal, which resulted in a backlash from fans who wanted to own the game on Steam....

Niantic is kicking off the month with an April Fool’s event in Pokémon Go, featuring Pokémon that are masters of disguise, like Ditto, Foongus, and Sudowoodo (via Leek Duck). In this Tricky Pokémon event, spawns of wild Gastly, Haunter, Voltorb, Sudowoodo, Aipom, Croagunk, and Foongus will appear. Ditto is now able to mimic Voltorb and Foongus, and Sudowoodo, Aipom, and Croagunk may be Shiny. Croagunk and Aipom will photobomb during the event, and as usual, there are event-themed Research tasks....
