As The Sims 4 approached seven years old, rumors of a Sims 5 release gained a new level of intensity. This is the longest gap between main titles in The Sims series’ history and Simmers have been fiercely speculating about a sequel since jobs for an “early-in-development AAA Title at Maxis” were published back in September 2018. When long-term Sims 4 Senior Producer Grant Rodiek was said to be leaving The Sims 4 team to do other “awesome Maxis things” back in April 2019, fuel was added to the fire, which has not been extinguished since....

With Mortal Kombat just a few days away from release, fans are anxiously waiting to get their hands on what’s expected to be the bloodiest and goriest game in the series yet. PS3 owners are thought to have the better version of the game, as their edition comes with exclusive character Kratos of the God Of War series. Even though this may seem unfair, PS3 owners shouldn’t declare victory just yet, as it appears as though their version will also have a huge mandatory install....

PS4 has recorded its second biggest sales week in the UK, only bettered by launch figures, reports Chart-Track. Chart-Track notes that Black Friday promotions saw increases for almost the entire Top 40, with PS4 hardware and software performing exceptionally well. Console bundling saw Uncharted 4 re-enter the Top 40 at No.8, Driveclub is back at No.20 and Ratchet & Clank returns to No.25. Video games analyst Daniel Ahmad notes that PS4 console sales for the week are more than 140,000 units....

The Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has finally received the long-awaited Miramar map, as part of Microsoft’s Spring update. The map was previously released on the PC version of the last-man-standing-wins shooter in December, with PUBG Mobile getting it just the other week. Miramar is a desert-themed battleground differing considerably from the game’s first map, Erangel. It’s comprised of dusty roads, rocky hills, densely built towns, and generally features large, open areas for players to duke it out in....

Rage 2 is apparently not selling as well as the original game did, according to the UK Boxed Charts. Rage 2 is not selling well. Is this a surprise? Not really. The original game didn’t sell particularly great to start with, and while Rage 1 received mostly positive reviews, Rage 2 is receiving some definitively mixed opinions from critics. On top of that, the original game ended on a do-nothing cliffhanger that really didn’t engender a whole lot of desire from fans to see what happens in the sequel....

UPDATE 26/11: Ubisoft has confirmed that the Rainbow Six Siege beta will go live to all players at 5pm GMT on Thursday, November 26, just over 24 hours after it was initially scheduled to launch. The beta will be available to download on PS4, Xbox One and PC. “We want to thank everyone who is participating in this beta,” Ubisoft said in an update on the game’s official forum. “Your feedback helps....

Rockstar Games has announced that it’ll launch a standalone version of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s multiplayer component Red Dead Online next week, on December 1. The new version will be available to anyone who doesn’t already own Red Dead Redemption 2 and will let new cowboys saddle up without having to have the single player story mode featuring Arthur Morgan attached, and they’ll still be able to enjoy all the current and future updates for the game including the Specialist Roles, the A Land of Opportunities online story missions and everything else....

Redfall is the latest game in development from acclaimed developer Arkane Studios, the same team that brought us games like Dishonored, Prey, and Deathloop. Specifically, Arkane Austin is developing Redfall, which is the team that created both Prey and Dishonored. Meanwhile, Arkane Lyon came out with last year’s critically acclaimed Deathloop. The game is a cooperative first-person shooter in which players take on the role of characters trying to fight back against the vampires infesting the fictional town of Redfall....

Gunfire Games revealed Subject 2923, its next and final DLC for Remnant: From the Ashes, and it’s due out August 20. The cinematic trailer was revealed during the PC Gaming Show live stream, but Gunfire also debuted gameplay during the Future Games Show. Subject 2923 will be the largest expansion for Remnant: From the Ashes and will deliver tons of new content. The focus of the expansion will be on the new campaign that concludes the events from the game’s core narrative....

Earlier in the month, it was reported that Japanese members of Capcom’s Resident Evil Ambassador program (an official fan group that get to take part in special events and campaigns for the series) would be invited to test out a secret, new game in early September. Now, news has broken that the same thing will be happening in America. One Patrick Copeland, a Twitch affiliate and streamer, posted an image on Twitter this morning of a letter they received inviting “potential testers” to try what is presumably a new Resident Evil game that is in development....

The newest Resident Evil title, long rumored to be a remake of Resident Evil 3, has instead been revealed as Project Resistance - a 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer title where four survivors must work together to defeat a Mastermind, who commands an army of monsters and uses traps to take out the survivors in something called Project Resistance. The fan reaction to Project Resistance announcement hasn’t entirely gone down well of the series, with some calling it a Dead by Daylight knock-off....

After the Resident Evil showcase wrapped up last night, Capcom released a playable Resident Evil Village demo on the PlayStation Network. Although it’s exclusive to Sony’s new machine, we thought we ought to take a look at what to expect once Village drops on PC. This teaser may lack the series’ signature combat, but it does a very good job at showing what to expect from Village‘s vampire venture. To begin with, the “Maiden” demo drops you right into a typical, grungy dungeon....

The final expansion for the Empires of the Ascended set has been announced for Legends of Runeterra. A Rise of the Underworlds trailer recently released, announcing it as the third expansion. This set follows Empires of the Ascended and Guardians of the Ancient, which brought the Shurima region to the game. This expansion will contain 40 new cards, including three new champions and new cosmetics. Two of those champions we can see in the animated launch trailer, Ekko and Pyke....

When Mojang Studios first unveiled its ambitious new Minecraft update, titled Caves and Cliffs, back in 2020, the developer initially wanted it to come out as a single update. However, due to the sheer scope of the update, the developer decided to release it in two separate halves. Mojang Studios already released the first half of the update on June 8 of this year, and it incorporated a whole host of new blocks, items, and wildlife into the game....

Although Square Enix scaled back its PAX East 2020 plans a bit without its Final Fantasy IX team, it still had a showcase in store. Along with a demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake, it also provided a behind-closed-doors look at Outriders. This upcoming third-person role-playing-laden shooter comes to us from People Can Fly, the manic team behind Bulletstorm. Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the games that will be granted to PlayStation Plus subscribers in May 2022 at no additional cost. We’re getting FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard, and Curse of the Dead Gods. While the first two games are for both PS5 and PS4, Curse of the Dead Gods is only for PS4. Of course, you can still play it on PS5 via backward compatibility, but it doesn’t have a native PS5 version....

PlayStation VR will go on sale in October for £349.99, Sony has announced. The virtual-reality headset will ship with a copy of Playroom VR, a pair of in-ear stereo headphones and a dedicated processing unit, which must be plugged in to your PS4 in order to use it. It won’t, however, include a PlayStation Camera, which Sony says is required to use PSVR. They can be picked up separately for around £50....
