Polygon Treehouse has announced a “friend -em up” story adventure called Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island. The developer is known for creating Röki, a charming adventure game revolving around Scandinavian folklore which received a Recommended badge in our review of its original release on PC. Rainbow Six Siege’s second DLC, Operation Dust Line, is to release during the week of May 9, Ubisoft has announced. The new DLC introduces two brand new Navy SEAL Operators: Valkyrie, a defense operator that has access to deployable sticky cameras; and Blackbeard, an attacker that comes equipped with a rifle and shield. Sea of Thieves’ long-long-long-awaited Captaincy Update, first discussed prior to the game’s release all the way back in 2018, will miss its planned launch later this month and is now due to arrive alongside Season Seven on 4th August. In its originally envisaged 2018 guise, the Captaincy Update was an early victim of Sea of Thieves’ rocky launch, with Rare ultimately making the decision to place it “on the back burner” while it refocused its development plans....
Rockstar Games has confirmed details on Red Dead Redemption 2’s PlayStation 4 early access content, which will be available for the upcoming Wild West sequel and its multiplayer companion, Red Dead Online. Sony console owners will be able to snap up some extra goodies 30 days before anyone else, including the Grizzlies Outlaw costume for protagonist Arthur Morgan. November’s Red Dead Online launch meanwhile comes with early access to the Arabian horse, which features a custom Alligator skin saddle....
A new report has detailed a long-term culture of crunch at TT Games, the developer behind the main Lego series of licensed titles. The article, published by Polygon, also details more recent studio frustrations during the creation of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - which today got a final release date after years of delay. More than 20 TT Games staff - past and present - described working for bosses who reportedly expected their teams to crunch as part and parcel of game production, ever since the studio’s founding in 2005....
Capcom’s grisly-looking Resident Evil 2 remake will allow players to pick between two different visual and performance settings. Speaking with GamingBolt, Capcom brand manager Mike Lunn confirmed that the survival horror revamp will allow for a 4K @ 30fps mode for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of the game. What isn’t known is if this will be native 4K or achieved through checkerboard wizardry. In addition, another setting will bump up the frame rate to 60fps, although it’s not yet known what resolution the game will run....

Creature collecting game DokeV from South Korean developer Pearl Abyss has been delayed. The news was announced as part of the Pearl Abyss Q3 earnings presentation. Both DokeV and the company’s much-anticipated MMO Crimson Desert have been delayed, the latter into the second half of 2023 and the former past its original target of 2023. Kinetic Games has released another beta update for Phasmophobia. Among a collection of bug fixes, the developer made a change to the way banshees hunt. Now, banshees will behave as the other ghost types do and target other players while its original target player is outside. For those who are new to the indie horror game, Phasmophobia puts you and up to three other players into small group of ghost hunters tasked with exploring abandoned facilities like homes, schools, prisons, and more....
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire will receive a boatload of post-launch content following its release in early May, developer Obsidian Entertainment has confirmed. Each DLC will offer up fresh locations and mission to tackle for the swashbuckling sequel, as well as the chance to meet new characters. Beast of Winter is the first expansion to set sail for Pillars of Eternity 2, and will arrive in July. Here, players will poke around a mysterious island that’s home to a doomsday cult, and adventure through a dimension known as The Beyond and face off against ‘devilish challenges....
THQ Nordic has snapped up another studio, this time acquiring RPG developer Piranha Bytes along with the rights to their three major RPG franchises, the company announced in a statement today. The news means that the studio responsible for the Gothic, Risen and – most recently – ELEX series are now operating as Pirhana Bytes GmbH and will operate out of Austria, with THQ Nordic acting as publisher for their subsequent games....
