The initial wave of Pokemon GO Gen 5 launches tomorrow and players around the world are getting ready for the Unova region creatures to take over the game. Although there isn’t the usual pre-launch task of stocking up on specific Candy to get ahead on evolutions, there is still lots of homework to do before the new generation actual arrives. Now that all the move sets have been datamined, it’s time to figure out which creatures will own the future Pokemon GO metagame....

The second season will be slightly longer than the first, though, coming in at thirteen episodes. Your prayers have been answered. #Preacher will return for Season 2!

In an interview with Siliconera, the creators of Project Rap Rabbit, Masaya Matsuura and Keiichi Yano, discussed how they initially designed the game with humans in mind, rather than animals. Matsuura said the idea was to always set the game in 16th century Japan, and as Yano puts it, ‘By utilizing actual history, we’re kinda deriving a lot of our own stories and our design from actual history, so it makes it easy for us to turn those into templates for modern themes that we might want to address....

Despite not even broaching the topic during the PlayStation 4 E3 conference in the early hours of this morning, Sony announced new sales records for PlayStation 4 and its associated software. ‘PlayStation 4 has sold through more than 60.4 million consoles to consumers as of June 11, 2017’. That’s the day before the conference, folks. ‘PS4 software sales, led by critically acclaimed titles such as Horizon Zero Dawn, remain strong with more than 487....

It’s been a while since the last open beta for Resident Evil Re:Verse — more than a year, in fact. But it returned last night during the Resident Evil Showcase. And they do say all things change with time. The online multiplayer game has received a facelift since last year, clearly ditching the comic book-like visuals and opting for a more familiar look. If you’re among the many fans of Resident Evil Village‘s super-tall villainess Lady Dimitrescu figure manufacturer PureArts and Capcom have a treat in store for you. A new statue portraying Lady Dimitrescu in all her majesty has been made available for pre-order today. The state is massive due to her 1/4 scale, which means she is nearly three feet tall. To be precise, she stands at 35 inches or 89 cm depending on your measuring system of choice....

Soon Resident Evil fans will get their hands on the Winters’ Expansion DLC for Resident Evil Village, and I’ve tried my hand at a demo of the Shadows of Rose story content. The DLC places you in the role of Ethan Winters’ daughter Rose several years after the events of Village. She’s all grown up, and she’s trying to get rid of the powers she inherited. Unfortunately, in order to do that she has to brave what appears to be a strange dimension based on Castle Dimitrescu, albeit its devilishly charming owner is nowhere to be seen, and we’re to contend with the Duke armed with a horde of face-eating hunters instead....

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 9 “He’s dead” And just like that, Riverdale‘s midseason finale wraps up with the jaw-dropping reveal that Dark Betty killed Jughead. Say it ain’t so Bughead Nation! Admittedly, I have no idea where this plot is going. Up until tonight I was convinced that Bret and the jerks over at Stonewall Prep were responsible for Jughead’s apparent death. (For the record, I’m still convinced that any information presented here suggesting otherwise are merely red herrings)....

We’ve been hearing some rumors about Overwatch 2 for the past few days now, leading into BlizzCon this weekend. There’s been talks of a new hero — Echo — along with a new PvE mode and other features. But now another juicy tidbit suggests that Overwatch 2 isn’t a separate sequel to the first game. Instead, it could serve as a replacement. A Twitter leaker by the name Metro_OW, who has been accurate about information he’s provided in the past, recently posted about Overwatch 2....

A player has used the recently released Overwatch workshop to make a new mode aptly named “Torbjörn Golf.” Unlike traditional golfing games in which you use a club or putter to hit the ball, this mode turns you into the ball instead. Movement across the “course” requires the player to first power up. A gauge can be found on the screen to show what power level you are at before launching off, which makes it feel quite similar to Winston’s leaping attack in terms of movement....

Yesterday Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive, announced on Twitter his self-declared unpopular opinion that the publisher’s “DLC policy is fair and good business practice”. He promised he would go into detail on the reasoning behind this unpopular opinion today. And so he just posted a short Twitter thread as promised, which is a fairly straightforward explanation, though clearly controversial. First of all, the Paradox DLC model is based on the concept that post-release DLC helps finance the further development and maintenance of the base game....

Fresh off its successful run with Fallout: New Vegas, Obsidian Entertainment has teamed up with Square Enix to bring another chapter to an established franchise in the form of Dungeon Siege 3. A series with a storied past and large following amongst PC gamers, Obsidian and Square Enix now look to bring this sequel to the consoles for the the very first time. For those not acquainted with the Dungeon Siege series, the setting of the conflict takes place in The Kingdom of Ehb, an independent nation formed by the mighty 10th Legion and located on the continent of Aranna....

Sony’s PlayStation 5 is probably not going to be with us until around 2020, according to a new report on Kotaku. The site quizzed a number of industry folk about the release of fresh hardware after a rumour last week suggested a next-generation PlayStation could launch as early as this year. According to multiple development sources, only two that were questioned by Kotaku admitted to knowing about the existence of the PS5....

Sony may have accidentally revealed that PlayStation classic Ridge Racer 2 is on its way to PS Plus. Yesterday, Sony announced the next slate of games coming to the subscription service in October, including Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Dragon Quest 11, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. PlayStation Access, the official PlayStation YouTube channel, included Ridge Racer 2 in its list of classic games, but this was not included in the PlayStation Blog....
