Persona 4 Golden, the expanded edition of the PlayStation 2 role-playing game, is coming to PC very soon (via Eurogamer). In Persona 4, which is actually the fifth game in the Persona series, the hero is a high-school student who moves out of the city and into the sleepy rural village of Inaba. However, Inaba is plagued with inexplicable murders, where victims are found hanging from TV antennas, and there is a myth that watching a switched-off television set on rainy midnights will reveal your soulmate....

While Sony might still be pushing its PlayStation VR headset on the PS4, Microsoft is seemingly stepping away from the technology. In an interview with Stevivor, Phil Spencer (executive VP of gaming for Microsoft) stated that the company is not interested in incorporating VR into Xbox One or the next-generation Scarlett. “We’re responding to what our customers are asking for,” Spencer said, “and…nobody’s asking for VR.” This came after Spencer noted that he has some issues with current VR technology....

Former PlayStation employee Emma Majo has launched a new gender discrimination lawsuit against PlayStation after an initial attempt was dismissed by a federal judge in April. Majo, an ex-PlayStation IT analyst, initially filed a suit against the company last November, claiming, among other things, that PlayStation paid women less than men in similar jobs, that women were denied promotions, and that she was wrongfully fired “soon after” submitting a signed statement to Sony in 2021 detailing the alleged gender bias she had experienced....

PlayStation Home has been going strong with various new updates that feature everything from increased game integration to new areas for avatars to explore, but none have held more promise than Sony’s just announced update 1.5. As part of a GDC press conference, Sony revealed that Home update 1.5 will introduce some exciting new features, namely low-lag realtime multiplayer capabilities, for developers to play around with. Much like players were able to watch trailers or videos with a large group of people, players will soon be able to have a comparable multiplayer experience whilst in the virtual world of Home....

PlayStation will host a State of Play on Wednesday 9th March at 10pm UK time. The presentation will last for 20 minutes, will include first looks and updates on both PS4 and PS5 games, and will focus primarily on games coming from Japanese publishers. A major new expansion pack introducing Porsches to Forza Horizon 2 is coming to Xbox One tomorrow, Microsoft has announced. Priced at $9.99, the Porsche Expansion includes 10 Porsches, 10 new Bucket List events, 10 Porsche Rivals events and 15 achievements. However, unlike earlier expansion pack Storm Island, the Porsche expansion doesn’t appear to include any new areas, simply taking place in Horizon 2’s existing southern Europe location. This review contains spoilers. 3.7 Hitler It’s interesting to see how Preacher handles the character of Hitler. He’s David Hitler this week, working at a local sandwich shop and rallying the oppressed workers during his break time with rousing speeches in German that they don’t understand, but that they can get behind anyway. He’s apparently a model employee, working on his world domination plan when he’s not too busy making sandwiches or covering for his boss....

The game once known under the working title of Project Athia has a name. It will now be known as Forspoken, which looks really odd when written out. During the Square Enix Presents liveshow today, the publisher dropped the new name as well as a gameplay trailer. Forspoken is still early in development, but Square Enix and the developer Luminous Productions are gunning for a release date in 2022. The official title announcement/gameplay trailer is introduced by the main character’s voice actor....

A PlayStation 5 DualShock 5 patent has appeared online and it has a built-in mic that looks like it would come in handy with that rumoured PlayStation Assist (via WccfTech). There are a few differences between the current generation nicknack and the next generation doohickey. This patent—submitted to the Japanese Patent Office—seems to show an built-in microphone which tallies with Sony’s focus on streaming and the Assist AI for PlayStation 5 players....

Ubisoft is rolling out another great deal for its popular team-based shooter, Rainbow Six Siege. The game first released in December of 2015. One of the reasons it has stayed so massively popular since then is that Ubisoft has continually kept up with special offers, updates, and balance changes. Rainbow Six Siege is getting an additional PvP multiplayer map today, Ubisoft has announced. The Bartlett University map, which had previously only been available in PvE, will be added to the game’s map rotation later today, and will be available for all players free of charge. The PvP version boasts improved destruction and a better layout than its PvE counterpart, and has had its gas effect removed. In addition to the new map, the game’s least popular operator ‘Tachanka’ will also be getting a major new improvement to his turret, which Ubisoft hopes will encourage more players to use him....

Rebellion, who brought you Sniper Elite 4 and Zombie Army Trilogy, has announced a new game for up to four players, called Strange Brigade. Seemingly styled after over-the-top 1930s adventure serials, Strange Brigade sees you control one of the four members of said team. Each of the four members of the Brigade have their own weapons and abilities. They’ll explore ‘remote corners of the British Empire where the supernatural lurks and the shadows linger,’ fighting monsters raised by ‘a resurrected Egyptian witch queen’....

Despite a lackluster response from critics, Rebellion studios wants a sequel to Aliens vs. Predator, calling their game a “critical success”. Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley had this to say on the game’s reviews (warning kids - strong language in effect): Numbers don’t really lie though, and MetaCritic ranks the game at a 73 for PC, 65 for Xbox 360, and 67 for PS3, and to me, those numbers scream “average” and “barely passing”, along with any other negative report card clichéd terms you want to add....

The Van Der Linde Gang has its issues but that doesn’t mean the central focus of Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t have some memorable friendships between members. The group is filled with so many different personalities and backgrounds so it shouldn’t be surprising strong bonds were built through hardship. So many of the combinations have such strong ties to one another. So although the main focus of this game isn’t exactly the friendships, it does well in this area too....

So, ya know that cowboy game that everyone, including myself, has been raving about? Well, it’s first week sales at retail have been pretty decent, it seems. After only a few days on store shelves, Red Dead Redemption 2 has had this year’s second best physical launch, with only FIFA 19 beating it this calendar year. As well as that, it outsold the 2010 original by 50%, which was to be expected, but still....
