ReCore has been delayed to “the latter half of 2016”, Microsoft has confirmed. Questions about the game’s release window were raised after it was given a ‘2016’ window in Microsoft’s latest release schedule, far more vague than the game’s previous ‘spring 2016’ target. But in a statement provided to Engadget, the platform holder confirmed that the game now isn’t due to ship on Xbox One or PC until later in the year....

Rumblings are emerging of a wave of departures at the Perfect Dark reboot studio The Initiative over the past year. The report comes from Video Games Chronicle, a day removed from reports on game director Dan Neuburger’s departure last month. According to them, a number of employees have updated their LinkedIn profiles to say they’re no longer with the company. So many have left, in fact, that apparently the studio’s headcount now stands at less than 50 employees....
Ring Fit Adventure has become increasingly popular in China, because people are unable to go out on daily runs or attend gym classes due to the coronavirus (via GamesIndustry.biz). In China, the game is not officially distributed through conventional sellers. The copies of Ring Fit Adventure are therefore sourced from grey markets, as imports from Australia, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, and North America. Most Chinese players are getting their game from resellers on eBay and Taobao....
WayForward has just released a new trailer for River City Girls Zero to celebrate its Nintendo Switch launch. The game is a translated version of the 16-bit 1994 beat ’em up Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka. This is the first time that it’s being released in the west and it’s coming with a few updates and additional features. River City Girls Zero is out now for the Switch and it’ll be coming soon to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in the future....
The folks at Blizzard are celebrating the fact that Overwatch has been out for 12 months next Tuesday, May 23, with a special anniversary event running from that date up until June 12. Blizzard is keeping tight-lipped on what this event will actually entail, so your guess is as good as mine. A new map perhaps? Maybe a new character? We’ll find out next week. Blizzard is also releasing a digital Game of the Year Edition for PC, PS4 and Xbox One that contains the origin skins that first appeared in the Overwatch: Origins Edition, as well as 10 free loot boxes, and in-game items based on Blizzard’s other properties: WoW, Diablo III, Starcraft II, and Heroes of the Storm....
The release of Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals has been pushed back to 2023. Night School Studio says its delaying the release in order to “make Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals the best game it possibly can be”. “We owe it to our amazing community to make Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals the best game it possibly can be,” the studio tweeted over the weekend. “Seeing your fan art, reading your excited comments, and connecting with you fuels our ambition to make this our best game yet,” Night School tweeted....
With Hollywood’s hunger for video game adaptations still seemingly insatiable, it’s now Bandai Namco’s turn to get in on the action, shunting Pac-Man - arguing gaming’s most iconic mascot - onto the the big screen in a live-action movie adaptation. That’s according to the Hollywood Reporter, which says Bandai Namco is teaming up with Wayfarer Studios (the company behind Disney+ biopic Clouds) to bring Pac-Man to cinemas. Details are limited right now, but the movie is said to be based on an original idea by Chuck Williams, who’ll produce alongside Tim Kwok on behalf of Lightbeam Entertainment....
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter doesn’t believe that Nintendo NX will hit its intended March 2017 release date, and could end up being delayed to mid-2017. He also believes that PlayStation 4 Neo could release around the same time, anywhere between March-June 2017, rather than the late 2016 window widely expected. Speaking to Gamertag Radio about the NX’s absence from E3, Pachter explained: “I think if they [Nintendo] were ready to launch the NX in March, they could have shown it here [at E3]....

Discord has confirmed that Xbox players and PC players will soon be able to talk together when an upcoming update opens voice chat channels to more people. While calls are currently restricted to PC and mobile devices, after this update Xbox players will be able to join them too. The announcement was made on the official Discord website. Microsoft consoles have supported Discord since 2018, but it wasn’t the same as the desktop version....

Flamengo and Corinthians have signed to feature exclusively in PES 2016, according to reports (via IBTimes). The two teams will not appear at all in FIFA 16. Ahead of the launch of FIFA 15, EA announced that the Brazilian leagues would not feature in the game, and it looks like that trend could be about to continue, at the very least when it comes to these two teams....

Nintendo has released a free trial of its upcoming Switch upgrade of its Wii U intergalatic garden strategy in the form of Pikmin 3 Deluxe ahead of the game’s release at the end of the month. The trial, announced during a special Nintendo Treehouse Live broadcast last night, can be played either solo and co-op, and not only does progress carry over into the full release, but completing the demo’s story mode also unlocks the new ‘Ultra Spicy’ difficulty in the full game from the off....
