Nvidia’s new line of RTX cards includes the evolutionary “raytracing” feature. This graphical technique improves lighting across the board and supposedly increases the performance of games that support it. In the run-up to the launch for Wolfenstein: Youngblood, it was stated that the game would have full ray tracing support when it launched. For one reason or another, however, Nvidia won’t have the feature ready for this week’s release. Nearly 15 years after the game’s release, a scrapped scene from the first Mass Effect’s introductory segment has been reconstructed by a dedicated fan. Unveiled via a post to the r/masseffect Subreddit on Jan. 20, the scene was rebuilt by user vegzkiller. Though they weren’t able to fully animate the character models, they did have some unused dialogue bits related to the scene which they could work with. The cutscene sees Shepard walk in as Corporal Jenkins is hassling Kaiden about demonstrating his biotic abilities....

Recently, developer Remedy Entertainment posted some details on its website regarding a meeting it had with investors. As one would expect, Remedy Entertainment discussed its earnings throughout the first quarter of 2022, but the studio also shared plenty of details regarding its upcoming games. According to the company, it plans to put out a total of four games between the years 2023 and 2025. One of these projects comes in the form of the anticipated Alan Wake 2, a game that Remedy unveiled during last year’s Game Awards....

Remedy has filed a trademark for an unannounced game called ‘Alan Wake’s Return’, according to an entry in the European Union trademark database. Spotted by a member of NeoGAF, the trademark was filed on Tuesday, February 23, and covers computer game software, action toys, and the “production of television features”, which covers “television entertainment”, the “production of cinematographic films”, “interactive multi-player computer games via the internet” and more. Remedy has yet to announce a sequel to Alan Wake, or confirm what it plans to work on following the release of April’s Xbox One/PC shooter Quantum Break....

Paradox Interactive has acquired Overlord and Age of Wonders developer Triumph Studios which was founded in 1997 by Lennart Sas and Arno van Wingerden. There will be no change at Triumph Studios and all projects in development at the studio will continue as normal. PlayStation’s full integration of Discord will reportedly happen in March next year. Mentions of connecting to PlayStation Network accounts were spotted in the mobile app for Discord last week, which suggested the integration would be happening soon. However, sources speaking to Insider Gaming stated they expect the integration to be included as part of the PS5’s 7.00 system update, which is currently scheduled for 8th March. PSN integration with Discord already started rolling out in January for users in the US, and allows users to display their PSN IDs on their Discord profile....
