The new 8-minute gameplay video gives us a closer look at eerie space station Talos-1, which has been invaded by an alien life form capable of turning into everyday objects. Early on, for example, you’ll see one alien try to ambush the player while camouflaged as a bin. You’re able to mimic objects, too, which helps you creep around the space station without being spotted by enemy drones....

Project A is Riot Games’ new first-person tactical shooter that’s in development right now, as announced in the middle of the League of Legends 10th anniversary celebrations (via IGN). It probably won’t be titled ‘Project A’ but I kind of like the name. Set on a near-future Earth, it’s a first-person tactical shooter with a ‘lethal cast of characters’. The art style is toony, sort of like Overwatch, but it seems to play similarly to Counter Strike....

Following on a lengthy process of waiting for government approval for battle royal shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in China, publisher Tencent has decided to shut down the ’test’ version of the game, effectively rendering the title no longer available in the country. Tencent were originally announced as the game’s Chinese publisher all the way back in 2017, and spent the time since releasing and iterating on a ’test’ version of the game making modifications in order to allow the game to meet the very strict regulations and requirements imposed on games by the Chinese government, including toning down the game’s violence....

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been named Game of the Year at the 2018 Steam Awards. The battle royale title, which actually gave the genre its jump start that lead to massive cultural phenomena like Fortnite and Apex Legends come to the fore, was voted in as 2018’s best Steam game by fans, who were prompted to name their favorites across eight awards. Rainbow Six Siege has a lot of moving parts. The game has an incredible amount of systems unique to it, maps that are more complex than just about any other game out there, and enough Operators and gadgets to keep players learning for a long time. As of the time of writing this, there are forty-six different Operators in Siege; and each of them have their own gadgets, and some have weapons entirely unique to them....

Ubisoft has announced plans to host a closed alpha test for Rainbow Six: Siege later this year. The invite-only event will run exclusively on PC and is limited to users in North America and Europe. To get in, you’ll need to register on Ubisoft’s website using your Uplay account. If you aren’t selected for the alpha, though, don’t panic: Ubisoft says that there “might be more opportunities to test in the future”....

Capcom is making a number of changes to Resident Evil 4 Remake from the original, including a tweak to companion character Ashley Graham. Previously, Ashley had her own health bar and could be carried off by enemies. Now, according to new details from Game Informer (via IGN), she will no longer have a health bar. Instead, if she takes too much damage, Ashley will be in a “downed state” and will need to be revived; if hit in this state she will die....

I’m often eager to try out new action rogue-lites. Even if they can look and feel rather samey, many of them carry intriguing characteristics. Revita is entering Early Access this week and brings 2D shoot-em-up action with a bit of bullet hell to the table. Along with handsome pixel artwork, the game piqued my interest when I first laid eyes upon it. At launch, Revita features the first three areas. The latest Morgana’s Report for Persona 5 revealed that the protagonists of Persona 3 and 4 will return to the new Challenge Battle mode (via DualShockers). Firstly, the My Palace feature has been flaunted in full, which is a gallery mode that will be customisable with items, decorations, and activities. The My Palace lets the player view cutscenes, concept art, and illustrations, and plays background tracks from the game’s soundtrack. Also, any one of the Phantom Thieves will be controllable as the feature’s wandering visitor....

The latest phenomenon in the multiplayer survival genre, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is blowing up, and there are plenty of things to know before diving right in. Players are tasked with fighting the environment as well as each other on their way to becoming the last player standing.
