Pokémon GO’s Team Rocket questline has been a slow process culminating in a showdown against Giovanni himself. The next endeavor in the gradual progression was unlocked late on November 10th and some avid fans have already achieved victory against the boss himself. The big summer finale to Pokémon Go’s season of Go Fest events has been detailed in full. Due to take place on Saturday 27th August, this full-day event will cap off the game’s introduction of Ultra Beasts and (hopefully) see its hunky Professor Willow return after being left dramatically MIA. The event has plenty for those playing free, or extras for those with a ticket. Supergiant Games, the indie developer behind Bastion and Transistor has revealed the launch trailer for Pyre, a party-based RPG which promises to deliver the studio’s biggest campaign yet. Also announced is proper PS4 Pro support, with the game confirmed to be running natively in 4K. So, that’s something else to get excited about. Creative director Greg Kasavin said ‘If you don’t have a PS4 Pro, no worries, of course…! We think you’ll find the game looks stunning and runs fantastic on your console’, stating that the game will run at 1080p 60 fps on a regular PS4, with only slight frame drops in particularly busy areas....

This quality AMD graphics card is only costing users $899, $100 down from AMD’s flagship and RTX 4080 rival, the RX 7900 XTX. Maybe Nvidia’s 40-series has made us too grateful for any graphics card costing less than $1000. The RX 7900 XT is $300 cheaper than the RTX 4080 whilst simultaneously delivering on performance....
A hugely ambitious undertaking for the developers at Avalanche Studios and Id Software, Rage 2 is a post-apocalyptic video game that crams in an awful lot of chaotic content. It’s the sequel to Rage, from 2010, which means it inherits a savage setting where bandits and mutants battle it out for dominance in a grim, gritty wasteland. The first game put the player in the army-issued boots of Raine, a government-created super soldier that emerged into this chaotic world after 106 years in cryogenic stasis....
Rain World is a cracking platformer and it was back in June that developer Videocult outlined their plans for the 1.51 update. NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella has revealed (via Venture Beat) that Red Dead Redemption 2 sold three times as many copies in the US during its launch month as the original Red Dead Redemption. While Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 took the crown as the best-selling game in the US last month, Rockstar Games’ cowboy opus chalked up the milestone in just nine days on sale, making it the second best-selling game of the year so far....

The Valorant anti-cheat lead, Paul “Arkem” Chamberlain, has taken to the game’s website to discuss the importance of players reporting suspicious activities in-game. He even went so far as to call player reporting ”one of the most powerful tools in the fight against cheaters.” Riot Games separately developed an automated system to detect and ban cheaters called Vanguard. However, player reports add human insight and give the Valorant team a sense of how players are feeling about the fairness of the game....
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s production company, Stolen Picture, is set to adapt Ben Aaronovitch’s fantasy novel, Rivers Of London. “We were in a position where I said ‘there’s this book that I loved’ and it became available, more or less,” says Frost in an interview with Deadline. “I was chuffed to bits that I could get the rights to make it into a TV show. Everyone wants to potentially find the next Game Of Thrones and the chance to turn Rivers Of London into an eight-hour movie and hopefully find someone who will financially back that is a real draw....

When played on the Nintendo Switch, Overwatch will make use of the console’s gyro-aim support to let players aim by tilting the Switch or pointing the Joy-Con at the screen (via WccfTech). Speaking to Vooks, producer Wes Yanagi detailed the opportunities and challenges of porting the game to the Switch. The controls are ‘basically the same as the other consoles’, and customisation capabilities will be ‘very similar’ as well.
