The CEO of Respawn Entertainment – best known as the studio that made Jedi: Fallen Order, Apex Legends, and the Titanfall games – has been placed in charge of DICE Los Angeles – a studio that’s pretty much known for doing whatever DICE Stockholm tells them to. Under this new leadership, that’s going to change. Respawn’s CEO, Vince Zampella, plans to rename DICE Los Angeles, create a new game under the new banner, and completely change the company’s image....

Respawn Entertainment revealed that Forge, the ill-fated hero of Apex Legends Season 4, was never going to be a real Legend; he was only created to “misdirect” dataminers (via Dot Esports). Blizzard has announced the return of the yearly Summer Games event to hero shooter Overwatch. As promised last week, it’s here a little earlier than usual but now also includes new weekly challenges. Fable creator Peter Molyneux has said he’s eager to get his next project, known as Legacy, on Nintendo Switch. Pokémon Masters’ producers Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi have been detailing company efforts to improve the game through a series of announcements, updating players on their plan of action. Impressive physical sales in the UK have made Pokémon Scarlet and Violet the biggest boxed video game launch of the year. Previously, this accolade was held by FIFA 23. This has also won Scarlet and Violet the title of being the UK’s second biggest boxed Pokémon launch of all time. The biggest is still that of the 3DS’s Sun and Moon (although, due to sale prices, charts firm GfK states Scarlet and Violet has generated more money than Sun and Moon did during its launch week)....
