An unofficial fan-made remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica is due out this year. Aiming to be in-line with Capcom’s own remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, the Code Veronica remake features upgraded visuals and a third-person camera, among other improvements. It’s been in development since 2019 and will be released for free at some point in 2022 as three separate chapters. It’s not yet clear if those chapters will be released separately or together....

Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami has revealed that he has ideas for new games in the Dino Crisis and God Hand series, but can’t act on them because the IPs belong to Capcom. Speaking at Gamelab in Spain, Mikami revealed he’s had an idea for a new Dino Crisis for some time now. As for God Hand, he says he wants to bring RPG elements to the tough-as-nails fighting game....

Earlier today, Respawn Entertainment took to its Twitter account to release a note about its decision to discontinue Titanfall. It was intended as a heartfelt announcement about Respawn’s first hit shooter being de-listed from stores and dropped from subscription services. However, many of the comments on Twitter leave bitter remarks about how the studio is abandoning the game. People seem to have taken offense to Respawn saying Titanfall is part of its DNA, while simultaneously announcing its end....

Respawn Entertainment is recruiting for a single-player first-person shooter set in the world of Apex Legends. The job listings (which Dexerto spotted) describe the upcoming game as “Apex Universe FPS incubation project.” And “a brand new Respawn single-player adventure.” One job ad reads: “This new single-player title is a developer’s dream playground with the freedom to innovate made possible by the unique universe it inhabits.” This could be the game that Respawn already mentioned last year....

With the upcoming release on several new platforms of Persona 5 Royal, Atlus hosted a dedicated livestream from Japan. The livestream featured a brand new trailer providing a good look at the game, including cutscenes and gameplay. Even more interesting is the gameplay showcased during the livestream, in which Joker’s voice actor Jun Fukuyama went hands-on with the game running on Xbox Series X. In the second video below you can see how it runs, also featuring the Persona 4 costume DLC, which will be included out of the box alongside over 40 DLC originally released for PS4....

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2’s EA Access trial has gone live on Xbox One and PC, offering 10 hours early access to the game ahead of its release next week. The trial offers complete access to the shooter’s co-op and multiplayer modes, with progress able to be carried over to the full game once it rolls out next week. PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan has hit out at Xbox’s future plans for the Call of Duty series pending the successful completion of Microsoft’s purchase of Activision for $68.7 billion USD. The Japanese arm of PlayStation published on Twitter a mini-manga dedicated to Call of Duty Vanguard. What makes the 12-page manga rather special is that it has been drawn by ultra-famous mangaka Hiro Mashima, whom you may know for popular publications like Fairy Tail and Edens Zero. The title is “Polina Petrova: The World’s Best Female Sniper” and in the accompanying press release, Mashima-sensei mentions that he appreciated her part in the campaign, so he was happy to be able to draw her....
