How to evolve Eevee continues to be one of the bigger talking points in Pokémon Go. Nintendo has explained that Pokémon Sword and Shield’s online features will still require a Switch Online subscription for players to access the new gameplay elements (via TechRadar). Dota 2 Battle Pass owners can now switch out the fat, smelly, Frankenstein’s monster that is Pudge with the much more adorable Toy Butcher variant. Those who’ve managed to get their Battle Pass up to level 255 will unlock the Toy Butcher Persona for free. As with all Personas, this completely changes the hero. Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime has addressed the lack of a Switch version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Fils-Aime said that it simply came down to a question of timing, and not, as some may have believed, because the Switch wasn’t capable of running the game. ‘We’d love for it to be [on Switch],’ he said. ‘But again – and this is where there needs to be an understanding of just the development process – Red Dead has been in development for years, time that predated any communication of Nintendo Switch....

UPDATE – JAN 5, 14:11: Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available on PC from January 28, 2016, Square Enix has confirmed. Developed in collaboration with Nixxes, the PC version will include “numerous” new features over the existing Xbox One and Xbox 360 releases, including support for 4K resolution. You can check out what it looks like in the first screenshots. As well as being available digitally, a physical Collector’s Edition containing a 12-inch Lara Croft statue, replicas of Lara’s journal and her jade necklace, a steel case and a downloadable digital deluxe version of the game will be available from the Square Enix Store for $149....

Overwatch has received some next-generation enhancements on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S machines in the game’s newest update which landed overnight. Curiously enough, the upgrades were missing from the main patch notes page, but a post on the game’s official forums noted that players on Xbox Series X|S consoles can now choose between three different visual modes: ‘Resolution’ which offers 4K at 60Hz on Series X and 1440p at 60Hz on Series S, ‘Balanced’ that ups the image quality at the cost of resolution (1440p/60Hz on Series X, 1080p/60Hz on Series S) and ‘Framerate’ offering 120 frames per second at 1440p on Series X and 1080p resolution on Series S....

A new patch has just hit Overwatch and this update includes the Overwatch League Team Skins. The skins are available in-game via the League Token system and home team skins are available for all 26 heroes. In a crossover that no one saw coming, adventure game Oxenfree and indie skater OlliOlli have come together for a fresh collaboration in OlliOlli World. Oxenfree character Alex is available for anyone who has progressed beyond the Sketchside biome in the main game. All players need to do is enter the postcode MV32FR33 in OlliOlli World’s Portal Mode. This is in addition to Void Riders, the game’s first expansion where players find themselves skating through levels and performing tricks to an all-new remix of the song Beacon Beach....

CRPGs aren’t exactly dead (Divinity: Original Sin proved that), but there hasn’t been a large amount of them for a number of years. Back in the 90s, the likes of BioWare, Black Isle Games, and even Interplay Entertainment were cranking out dungeon crawlers on an almost yearly basis. You had no shortage of games taking inspiration from Dungeons & Dragons and using those rulesets to create deep, immersive RPGs. While we’re not suffering a drought anymore, the wait for Baldur’s Gate 3 might be quite a while....

At this point in time, I firmly believe it is impossible for publisher New Blood Interactive to make a disappointing game. DUSK, Amid Evil, and Maximum Action are all solid FPS titles that fans of classic shooters need to play. They recapture the past, improve on issues older games had, and provide utterly unique experiences while doing so. Gloomwood is much the same as those past titans. Teased for months now on New Blood’s Twitter account, Gloomwood was given a private demo at the company’s PAX East 2020 booth that finally unveiled gameplay to the world....
