Popular mystery novelist Mary Higgins Clark died of natural causes in Naples, Florida, on Friday March 31, according to the New York Times. “It is with deep sadness we say goodbye to the ‘Queen of Suspense’ Mary Higgins Clark, author of over 40 bestselling suspense titles,” her publisher Simon & Schuster announced on Twitter. “She passed away peacefully this evening at the age of 92 surrounded by family and friends.”...

If you had a PS2 when you were a kid, then odds are good you’re familiar with the Ratchet & Clank franchise. Released back in the ancient times of 2002, Ratchet & Clank was a third-person action-adventure title by Insomniac Games. It stars the titular Lombax named Ratchet and his mechanical friend Clank, who team up to save the galaxy and build a friendship capable of lasting forever! We are into the final few weeks of Call of Duty: Warzone as we know it. Once Warzone Pacific rolls out, Verdansk will be no more and it will be replaced by the new Caldera map. Despite this, the developer is still trying to make our final matches in Verdansk as smooth as possible. The producer of the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake has told VideoGamer.com that work on the project is “progressing”, and that he hopes the game will “recapture the spirit” of the original PSOne release. Speaking in an exclusive interview, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi explained that while he doesn’t “think there’s much meaning in simply saying things like ‘Yes, I’m confident we can [recapture the feeling of the original]”, his team at Capcom is “working hard on the game at the moment and there are some reasons why I think we can recapture the spirit of the first game....

Resident Evil 7 continues to be in demand at retailers worldwide, with Capcom confirming it has now shipped three million units of the chart-topping survival horror sequel. The game launched only two weeks ago. Capcom announced its launch shipments for the game were more than 2.5 million, meaning a further half a million units have since made their way to stores. Capcom has said it hopes to sell four million units of Resident Evil 7 by the end of the financial year, ending March 31....

During today’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, a trailer was shown announcing that Return to Monkey Island is coming to the Switch. Return to Monkey Island continues the story of the adventure games The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. This will be the first game in the franchise since 2009. This title was revealed back in April, but the announcement was a teaser trailer and the consoles it would be coming to were not specified....

Today Arc System Works released a new trailer of Wayforward’s upcoming beat’em up River City Girls. The trailer is as stylish as you expect, and it introduces the playable cast of the game, starting from heroines Misako and Kyoko and their boyfriends, Kunio and Riki, on top of the recently-revealed Provie and Marian. You’ll be able to play with four of them at any given time thanks to River City Girls 2’s recently announced 4-player co-op mode....

Publisher Starbreeze has announced it has signed a deal with Koch Media to co-publish the upcoming Payday 3, and giving the game a release target on consoles and PC for 2023. The deal is said to be worth €50 million as per GamesIndustry.biz and means the game is now fully financed and development can proceed as planned. The new game in the multiplayer heist series was on shaky ground for a while following the critical failure of Overkill’s The Walking Dead game which resulted in Skybound Entertainment terminating its contract with the company which caused massive financial issues for the publisher, though Starbreeze was still hopeful for a 2022 or 2023 release for Payday 3 back in 2019....

Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, a spin-off game starring Persona 5’s Phantom Thieves, will be hitting the US and UK on June 4, Atlus has announced. The 3DS-exclusive will also receive a Showtime Premium Edition, which includes a Koromaru plush, art book, four buttons including the game’s four main protagonists, and a bunch of playing cards. Persona Q2 includes a mashup of various characters from the much-loved JRPG series, including familiar faces from Persona 3, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4, and Persona 5....

It seems that the all-conquering Call of Duty franchise may have bitten off a little more than it could chew, as a movie based on the series is on a bit of a hiatus while the parties involved decide where they’re going with it. Mew is a strange Pokémon that carries a little bit of each in its DNA. It is considered a psychic Pokémon and it is #151 in the Pokédex. It does not evolve but it has a wide range of personality traits including playfulness and superior intelligence. Niantic has added Galarian Meowth, Zigzagoon, Darmanitan, and Stunfisk to Pokémon Go, collected from Pokémon Sword & Shield (via Eurogamer). Galarian Meowth is able to evolve into Perrserker, and Galarian Zigzagoon is able to evolve into Galarian Linoone into Obstagoon. These aren’t the first Galarian monsters to make it into the mobile game, as Galarian Weezing arrived in Raids to promote the release of Sword & Shield in 2019. Still, it is the official premiere of the Galar Poké Dex in the game, so get to catching....
