Capcom has recently announced that it will launch an open beta test for Resident Evil Re:Verse. The client download will be available from April 7 at 11:00 p.m. PT / April 8 at 2:00 a.m. ET in the morning, while the servers of the Open Beta will close at the same time on April 11. The Beta will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. In order to participate, you must have a Capcom ID associated with your gaming platform....

Payday 2’s Border Crossing heist is out now on PC and the Silk Road update comes with new outfit customisations, new outfits, and improvements to the UI (via Eurogamer). Silk Road is a ‘free core game update’ that livens up the game’s UI and introduces a new outfit system. This will let players express themselves with new customisations and adds six free outfits. These are Murkywater Uniform, Raincoat, Scrubs, Tactical BDU, Tuxedo, and Winter Camo Parka....

The Pentagon can be quite the tease, especially when it comes to UFOs. They’ve claimed the phenomenon doesn’t exist, that they looked into it and lost interest, and they disbanded the unit they had investigating it. Now The New York Times is reporting the top military office never stopped looking at the skies. They just stopped telling us about it. Today the Pokemon Company released another of its “Soratobu Project” trailers created to encourage tourism in Japan. Like the previous one released a few weeks ago, it features the Okinawa-based band “HY” performing their song “Sorairo” which translates into “Sky Color.” This time around, the theme of the trailer is Miyakojima, one of the southernmost islands of Japan, located in the middle between Okinawa and Taiwan. The trailer showcases the island itself and its natural beauty and tourist attractions, on top of the first Pikachu Jet operated by Skymark (another will debut in may) linked to the project, and the dedicated Pokemon-themed features and even buses....

Following the PlayStation State of Play yesterday, Sony has released a brand new update for the PS4 system that is available to download and install immediately. The 7.01 update is meant to improve system performance, likely as a patch to ease some of the systems added in previous updates. To download the update, all players have to do is turn on their PS4 system and either select System Software Update under the settings menu, or simply wait for the download to begin on its own if they have it set to download automatically....

Bloober Team has announced that its psychological and psychedelic horror game, Layers of Fear, is making its way onto the Nintendo Switch. The game will be coming to the portable console as Layers of Fear: Legacy, and will be published by Aspyr Media. The Legacy edition of the game includes the Inheritance DLC, and will support HD rumble, and touchscreen and motion controls. Ubisoft has dropped a new video for Rainbow Six Extraction, explaining the upcoming shooter’s endgame Maelstrom Protocol mode. Remedy’s new AAA IP is not being published by Microsoft, the developer has confirmed. Instead, it’s to be published by a “brand new partner”, Polygon reports, with more details set to be revealed at a later date. “We have to respect our partner and it’s up to them to decide when they want to talk about the game,” business director Johannnes Paloheimo explained, adding that a second game currently in the concept stage is still without a publisher....

Everyone pretty much expected that a Resident Evil 3 remake was going to happen, most likely due to the leaks that started to flow prior to the official reveal. Capcom later pulled back the curtain, detailing the remake with protagonist Jill Valentine being thrown around like a ragdoll in its trailer.
