The Pokémon Company has dropped a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, showcasing Terastallization and more. The new game will take place in the region of Paldea, described as a land of vast open spaces. There’ll be plenty of people and Pokémon to meet in its lakes, towering peaks, wastelands and mountain ranges – of course. The central point of the region is its largest city: Mesagoza. Here, players will enrol at the Naranja Academy or the Uva Academy, depending on which version of the game they’ve picked up....

Potion Permit doesn’t seem to do anything in a hurry, and that’s because it’s a game that expects you to be with it for a long time to come. This Preacher review contains spoilers. Preacher Season 3 Episode 8 On no other show but Preacher will you ever find quite the rogue’s gallery assembled for what amounts to an incidental scene. In this case, in the closing moments of “The Tom/Brady,” we’re presented with the Angel of Death, Hitler, the Saint of Killers, a Holy Grail agent, and a man who’s known colloquially as “Arseface.” This motley crew is onscreen together for barely a minute, but it’s a reminder of how absolutely off the wall Preacher can be, especially given what happens in the other 95% of yet another bustling episode that’s more densely packed than the Allfather himself....

It feels like it’s been a while since we last heard about Darewise Entertainment’s Project C. Back in May the developer opened the doors to alpha playtesters for its open-world project, asking interested parties to fill an application and follow up with a live interview. Sony Europe has announced the next batch of titles to join PlayStation Now, with April’s lineup featuring off-road racer DiRT Rally and gangster-flavoured actioner Yakuza 4 among the main highlights. Next month will also see marmite platformer (in the sense people seem to either love it or hate it, rather than it actually being about, well, marmite) Knack join Sony’s streaming service alongside Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide, Defence Grid 2, and Yesterday Origins....

PlayStation users won’t need to worry for ‘several years’ about Call of Duty becoming an Xbox exclusive. In a statement to The Verge, Xbox boss Phil Spencer reassured Sony fans will still get ‘content parity’ for some time yet – following Microsoft’s purchase of Activision. “In January, we provided a signed agreement to Sony to guarantee Call of Duty on PlayStation, with feature and content parity, for at least several more years beyond the current Sony contract, an offer that goes well beyond typical gaming industry agreements,” he said....

PUBG: Battlegrounds’ - formerly known as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds - Update 21.2 is on the way, dropping on 17th January for PC players and the 25th for those looking for a chicken dinner on consoles. The update ushers in changes to Vikendi, Sanhok, and Taego, as well as an “update to the 1v1 Arena in Training Mode”. You can check out the highlights in the helpful video embedded below: Vikendi’s changes include multidrops - which means multiple care packages holding high-tier loot will randomly drop throughout the match - as well as Repair Kits which do exactly what they say on the tin and enable players to repair helmets and armour, plus vehicles, too, if you final the Mechanic’s Toolbox....

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has surpassed the 30 million sales milestone this week, according to Bloomberg tech wizard, Yuji Nakamura. Writing on Twitter, the reporter noted however that daily active users for the last-man-standing-wins shooter has started to decline, which he attributes to developer Bluehole not clamping down hard enough on cheaters. It’s also worth noting that the dip is the biggest PUBG has experienced since the game launched last year, and has been slowly falling since January....

The idea of Quentin Tarantino making a Star Trek movie sounds innately ludicrous, but as with all innately ludicrous ideas it might be so innately ludicrous, that if it actually happens, the franchise will boldly go where no Star Trek movie has gone before, and that is quite simply tantalising. In an interview with THQ’s disarmingly honest VP of Core Games, Danny Bilson, CVG discussed the company’s plans for Red Faction 4, stating that it is set to hit retail this year, and that several key game features are receiving “insane upgrades”. “It’s different from the last one but similar… It’s sort of a combo of the old one and the new one, so it’s… I don’t want my marketing guy to be pissed at me for giving away too much, but it goes back underground and it’s really cool....

If you enjoyed the 2021 action RPG Ender Lilies, then you may want to check out Redemption Reapers once it comes out. Announced just recently, Redemption Reapers serves as the second project developed by Ender Lilies studio Adglobe. Although both games function as RPGs, Redemption Reapers differs quite significantly from Ender Lilies in that it takes place within a fully 3D world. Additionally, its gameplay features a more tactical edge as opposed to Ender Lilies’ focus on real-time action....

How do you feel about mobile games? If you have any familiarity with developer 34BigThings’ back catalog, you’d know that its futuristic racer Redout has been available on iOS and VR for the better part of five years. So, you can only imagine my confusion when the developers announced a sequel of sorts that actually goes as far from a racetrack as possible, instead shifting the setting to one of a more interstellar variety....

Remedy Entertainment, the developer of such games as Control and Quantum Break, is currently working on three new titles, including an unannounced title and a live-service game called Vanguard. This announcement came as part of the company’s financial statement for the year of 2019, which provides a few scant details of in-development projects. In addition to providing DLC for the critically acclaimed Control, the studio will be providing the single player experience for Smilegate’s upcoming CrossfireX as well....

These powerful creatures are key figures for progressing the story, accessing new worlds and obtaining powerful items. Every Resi fan in the land got a bit giddy when they heard that Resident Evil HD, Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 were coming to Nintendo Switch, but that was before they knew how much they’d cost. All scheduled to launch on May 21, each game will set you back £29.99. That’s a hefty jump in price when you compare it to what they’d cost you on PS4 or Xbox One....

There once was a time when survival-horror games were commonplace, with many developers chasing the success of Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise and Konami’s Silent Hill. Unfortunately, game developers started moving away from survival-horror, with even the classic survival-horror franchises becoming more like action games than anything else. While the horror genre has enjoyed somewhat of a comeback, few titles nowadays fit within the “survival-horror” mold, but the upcoming Daymare: 1998 embraces the old-school horror game mentality....

At the start of today’s (Oct. 20) Resident Evil showcase, we got a new trailer for the Winters’ Expansion for Resident Evil Village. While we certainly know the expansion was going to give the game a playable third-person perspective. Having put tons of time into Resident Evil Village, it looks like a whole different game from the third-person perspective. Not only does it give this, but we get a nice look at gameplay featuring Ethan’s daughter Rose at age 16, the same amount of time after the first game ended....

PlayStation has announced that Matterfall, a twinstick shooter by the developers of Resogun, is coming out this August 15. Matterfall is a PS4 exclusive. Right now I can bring you the reveal trailer from last year, but we’ll update the page if new video is revealed!

This Riverdale review contains spoilers. Riverdale Season 4 Episode 12 “If you go on the run now, you’ll never stop running.” After last week’s infuriating episode (my least favorite of the series to date), I had much trepidation going in to this new episode of Riverdale. Fortunately, my concerns didn’t last too long. Thanks to a sharp script by first-time series Writer/Co-Executive Producer Ariana Jackson that thrusts the various storylines forward while having to pause to introduce the Katy Keene character before her solo show debuts tomorrow, this was the most eventful episode Riverdale has had, well, in ages....

Publisher 3D Realms has been on a bit of a tear lately. With last year’s Ion Fury, the company proved it had a knack for finding talent and recreating the past. That trend continued with Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, another retro-inspired FPS that utilized older technology to create a brand new game. Now with Ghostrunner, the publisher is looking to the future. Set in a cyberpunk dystopia, Ghostrunner is all about being a cyber ninja and killing dudes silently....
