PUBG Mobile has released a new anti-cheat system that it says has already cut cheating by half. Developer Krafton says the system, called Fog of War, “helps mask the movements of other players from cheaters using x-ray vision/wall hacks”, and states that during the testing period, cheating fell by 62 per cent in “certain regions”. “The first of its kind in mobile gaming, Fog of War is an advanced anti-cheat system that limits the game information a player receives, reducing their ability to see players out of their field of view or through walls and objects,” Krafton explains....
The developer behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has confirmed it’s had to postpone the planned anti-cheat update for the battle royale behemoth. The patch was originally planned to roll out yesterday, but an ‘unexpected issue’ cropped up during testing that necessitated a delay. As part of PUBG Corp’s attempts at clamping down on unscrupulous players, the anti-cheat update will ‘block different helper programs that alter the graphics or aid in gameplay in some way....
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developer PUBG Corp. has been tinkering around with the PC version of the chicken-loving shooter again, with update 14 now available to grab. This latest patch focuses largely on stuff you can lob at people, so that’s grenades, molotov cocktails, and stun grenades. Chiefly, regular grenades have been given a boost in terms of damage and range, molotovs now have a larger area of effect (apparently they were among the least popular items in PUBG), and stun grenades feature new animations and a meatier blast radius....
