PlayStation has announced that the first major update for PlayStation 5 since the new console launched will be landing tomorrow and will introduce a bunch of new features, including the much-requested ability to store PlayStation 5 games on an external USB drive. As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the April Update will allow you to transfer PlayStation 5 games to an external USB storage device when they’re not in use, freeing up precious hard drive space for new titles....

PlayStation boss Jim Ryan stated that the PS5 will receive more exclusive games than previous generations of consoles. The cloud future was also addressed. In an interview with the Japanese outlet Nikkei, Jim Ryan, the PlayStation Boss, spoke about the company’s future strategy. It was about virtual reality and delivery bottlenecks, but above all about future content for the PS5 and the company’s cloud strategy. With a view to the competition, Sony wants to ensure that the current console cycle offers even more exclusive titles than previous generations....

The first trailer for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu already amazed a lot of fans with its surprisingly endearing take on Pikachu as more than just a lovable companion to a Pokémon trainer. In fact, the initial antagonism between Pikachu and Tim (Justice Smith) is half of what makes the premise so charming. In this second trailer, Ryan Reynolds’ amazingly fitting voiceover and the investigation into Harry Goodman’s supposed death is still the centerpiece of what makes anticipation for this movie so sky-high, but we also wanted to take a closer look at some of the other visually exciting aspects of this latest promo that go by in a flash, including some enjoyable cameos from Pokémon of several different generations and evolutions....

Arkane Austin’s first-person vampire shooter will launch for PC and Xbox Series X/S on 2nd May, including via Xbox Game Pass. Tonight’s Xbox Developer_Direct gave us a fresh look at the game, including its fire station safehouse which appeared to be a place you pick up missions and head out to explore its world. We saw footage of a player battling a “Shroud” vampire which cloaks the local area in darkness, giving the appearance of a more arena-style fight in close quarters....

On a recent blog post, Remedy Entertainment announced it is working on a new game codenamed P7 that they’re aiming to bring to ‘a wider range of platforms’ than what we’ve seen from the developer before. On P7, Remedy said it is looking to broaden its horizons and work on getting the project on PlayStation 4, which is why the studio is currently developing the Northlight engine for Sony’s home console....

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2 will allow players to unlock classic outfits for Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. The costumes are based on their iconic costumes from the original version of Resident Evil 2, with Claire sporting her ‘Made in Heaven’ jacket and biker shorts, while Leon has his classic R.P.D. uniform and 90s boy band hair. I’m being really picky here just because I can, but Capcom forgot to give Claire some black sleeves on her outfit to complete her classic look....

Housemarque and PlayStation Studios have released a new trailer & story details for upcoming shooter Returnal focusing more on the game’s story and revealing that the game will go into first-person for some sections. Selene (voiced by Jane Perry whose voice you may recognise as also playing Diana Burnwood from the Hitman World of Assassination Trilogy) is a Greek-American ASTRA deep space scout, and as the accompanying post on the PlayStation Blog describes is “driven to a fault, intelligent and resourceful” — when she crashes on the alien planet of Atropos chasing a mysterious ‘White Shadow’ broadcast signal, she finds herself trapped in a time loop on a hostile alien planet with everything out to kill her....

It’s not a third season, but we’ll take it: Rick and Morty is coming to Rocket League as part of the game’s 2nd anniversary update. The announcement came today after Psyonix posted on the Rocket League webpage, announcing the two titular characters would be available as a series of after match items, thanks to a collaboration between the development studio and Adult Swim. The popular cartoon characters, and a series of their friends and supporting characters, will be available as a series of customization items dropped after a match is completed....
