The latest patch for Rainbow Six Siege doesn’t do much to change the game, but it is fixing some of the more annoying bugs players have come across. In particular, the Eyenox skill and Jackal’s footprints were the target of some extensive tweaks. The patch launched yesterday on PC and will be rolling out on the PS4 and Xbox One later next week. While there aren’t many game changers in this update, dozens of glitches have been removed from the game....

Rainbow Six Siege players will receive a 50% Renown boost this weekend following the successful completion of last week’s community challenge, Ubisoft has announced. The challenge tasked players with keeping their teammates alive between January 19-26, with a varying number of points earned based on how many players remained alive at the end of each round. There’s one small problem, though: The 50% boost takes place at the same time as the closed beta for Ubisoft’s other big online game The Division, meaning players will have to decide which one they’d rather play this weekend....

Rainbow Six Siege will not feature a single-player campaign mode, Ubisoft has confirmed. Art director Scott Mitchell confirmed the news to WhatCulture during this weekend’s EGX, telling the site: “There is no story mode per se. You go through training, where you get to experience different operators and their devices. You can play against enemy AI in co-op through all the maps. You can customise matches, so that’s what we’re offering on the single-player side of things....

One of the appeals of Rockstar Games’ ongoing hit Red Dead Redemption 2 is the various weapons available in the game, and some of the customization options that can turn them into overpowered game-changers to make your next playthrough of the main game way too easy. Rockstar Games has launched a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 as promised, and while there’s no faulting it for its inclusion of tough-talking cowboy antics, we still don’t get to see how the game actually plays. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be saddling up for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26. The game takes place in the year 1899 and finds Arthur Morgan and the rest of the Van der Linde gang on the run following a botched robbery attempt in Blackwater....

It looks like Valve might have a new VR headset in the works, at least according to Youtuber Brad Lynch. This new headset, codenamed “Deckard,” would serve as the second VR headset made by Valve after the Valve Index, and it will reportedly sport a design similar to those of Facebook’s Oculus Quest headsets. Lynch found out about the headset when digging through the SteamVR files, which featured several references to it, “which he then cross-referenced against the company’s recent patent applications....

Resident Evil 0, a remastered version of the 2002 GameCube prequel, is currently in development for release on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in early 2016, Capcom has announced. The game’s original director Koji Oda and other team members are returning to work on the project, with Capcom promising to reveal more info in the coming weeks – probably E3. It’s safe to assume Resident Evil 0 will get the same treatment which helped Resident Evil Remaster sell more than a million copies – 1080p visuals and updated textures....

Having multiple playable characters was something of a selling point for the original Resident Evil even if the differences between the two aren’t too, too much at the end of the day. That said, it was enough to encourage plenty of replay value. Naturally, Resident Evil 2 doubled down on this by featuring even more differences between its two leads. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has now sold 4.8 million units worldwide, Capcom said during its Q3 financial results. The figure includes sales of the base version of the acclaimed scare-’em-up and its Gold Edition re-release. The Japanese software powerhouse announced back in November that Resi 7 had moved 4.1 million copies worldwide, so that’s another 700,000 sold during the last quarter. In that time, Capcom has also launched the free Not a Hero DLC and the paid-for End of Zoe expansion....

Troubled multiplayer spin-off Resident Evil RE: Verse might be in line for an announcement soon, it seems. The game popped up over the weekend on ratings board PEGI with a new entry for the Google Stadia version, thanks to Gematsu. Though the game’s PS4, Xbox One and PC versions were rated a year ago, the Stadia version was only rated this past Saturday. Resident Evil RE: Verse was first announced all the way back in January 2021....

Resident Evil Village was shown for the first time in all its beauty on PC in a video released during the revelation event of the new AMD RX 6700 XT GPU, officially announcing that the title will fully support ray tracing technology. Overwatch has a surprisingly developed story for a character-based shooter game. It gained a lot of attention on release with its powerful animated shorts, and supplemented its lore with more animations, comics, and short stories. So far, the stories that Blizzard has released haven’t been too lengthy, but now fans can sit down and enter the world of their favorite characters with the new Overwatch young adult novel, The Hero of Numbani....

Overwatch has been blamed by adult website YouPorn for a near-10 percent drop in traffic last week, which just so happened to coincide with the Blizzard shooter’s League event. YouPorn provided a detailed graph showcasing a noticeable dip in traffic during the first broadcast, specifically the nail-biting ruck between Los Angeles Valiant and San Francisco Shock where figures fell by 9 percent. What’s more, traffic didn’t normalise for seven hours after the first broadcast....

Pathologic 2, the alienating and plague-stricken survival game from Ice-Pick Lodge, will come to the PlayStation 4 on March 6. A sequel to the original horror game released in 2005, the player takes on the role of Artemy Burakh, a surgeon on his way home to the Town-on-Gorkhon. It isn’t a warm welcome for Artemy as three locals attack him when he steps off the train, and kills them out of self-defense....

Pre-registration is now open for the west coast event, Penny Arcade Expo Prime 2011. This year introduces a bit of a twist though, stretching the 3-day event to 5 days, at least for developers. PAX Dev, a new event centered around the developer community, will be taking place the Wednesday and Thursday (August 24-25) before the main event (August 26-29). Consumers should not get worried over the Xbox Scorpio launch price, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has told WinBeta. Love him or hate him, Peter Molyneux seems to be the champion of Microsoft’s Natal. In an interview with Game Reactor he gave his views on the power of Natal and what it could mean for the gaming community.
