PUBG developer Krafton has announced it’s making a new game based upon the Korean fantasy book, The Bird That Drinks Tears. Krafton says it is an “ambitious project” that “aims to bring the original fantasy universe of The Bird That Drinks Tears to life through its unique and refreshing fantasy races, beautiful, haunting landscapes, and gripping, immersive, and poignant stories”. “The Bird That Drinks Tears is a novel series that was created and written by Yeong-do Lee, who is widely acknowledged as the pioneer of the Korean fantasy genre,” Krafton explains....

A new update for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on the PlayStation 5 has dropped, which among other things adds a new 120Hz display mode for compatible TVs. As revealed by the patch notes, the 1.002 update increases the frame rate target on the Fidelity graphics mode to 40FPS when playing the game on a 120Hz compatible display. While 30 and 60 FPS are usually the norm, the value of 40 has been selected as it also fits nicely into a 120Hz refresh rate without causing issues such as screen tearing....

Sony has launched a new subscription model for its game streaming service PlayStation Now in the UK. Available for £12.99 for a 30 day subscription, the streaming service offers PS4, PS3 and PS Vita users unlimited access to a range of PS3 titles, with 100 available on the service today. It looks as though you’ll soon no longer be able to buy legacy PlayStation titles on the PlayStation Store via the mobile app or the web thanks to an upcoming update to the PlayStation Store later this month. According to an email obtained by French site Planete Vita purportedly sent to developers, Sony intends to launch a “brand new” PlayStation Store on web and mobile on October 19 on web and October 28 on mobile, and in doing so will remove the ability to buy PlayStation 3 games and add-ons, PSP games and add-ons, PlayStation Vita games and add ons as well as Apps, Themes and Avatars....
