The lead writer on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has claimed her work has been “erased” following a GDC talk by Insomniac lead designer Mark Stuart. As reported yesterday, Stuart discussed the development of Rivet, including gameplay elements and the character’s name. However, lead writer Sam Maggs has responded to IGN’s coverage stating “it’s pretty upsetting and frankly offensive” that she wasn’t included in Stuart’s talk, adding “sucks to have my work erased”....

Today’s the day that online game developers have decided to share their holiday plans and Rockstar’s taking part with new information about what’s coming to Red Dead Online. Red Dead Redemption 2’s online component and all of its players will receive plenty of gifts to close out 2019. The snow arrives in Red Dead Online starting as soon as tomorrow, December 20. And with it comes the holiday season. Limited-time holiday decorations will be found at players’ camps and the Moonshining Shack, including a Christmas tree with candles....

The listing hints that Returnal may the next PlayStation “exclusive” heading to PC. Sony has brought a handful of its first-party games to PC so far. Koch Media has announced it will be publishing co-op heist game Payday 3 as well as a new Painkiller game under its new label known as Prime Matter. The label was revealed during last night’s Summer Game Fest broadcast, and will be working with developer Starbreeze studios to launch the latest entry in the first-person series. Though there wasn’t much in the way of substantial new info, the announcement did note that Payday 3 is aiming to launch in 2023....

PEGI ratings are now being used on the Google Play Store and Firefox Marketplace as part of a global digital storefronts initiative in Europe called IARC (the International Age Rating Coalition). A remaster of PlatinumGames’ little-played but well-reviewed Wii U superhero adventure, The Wonderful 101, was first announced via a Kickstarter campaign launched in early February of this year. It was just about as instant of a success as a crowdfunding campaign could plausibly be, meeting its ~$50,000 goal in less than half an hour. Sony has reached their target of shipping 60 million PS4s. In the last fiscal year, ending March 31, 20 million PlayStation 4 consoles were shipped, their recently released earnings report detailed. In the twelve months previous, the number was 17.7 million units shipped, making this the best year yet for Sony and PlayStation 4.
