The customization options in Pokémon Sword and Shield are all over the place. On one hand, there’s a huge selection of apparel and color options for each. Trainers can also collect a plethora of Gym uniforms, but may only wear the original during Gym Challenges, and the makeup options can hardly be called such when there is barely any makeup involved. The inconsistencies persist in the hair salon where female trainers find an adequate selection of hairstyles, but upon closer inspection one realizes all the options are painfully basic....

Sony is finally adding support for 1440p displays to the PlayStation 5, to the cheers of many players, particularly those on PC, with high refresh-rate QHD monitors. This has been a long requested feature by PS5 owners, and a feature that the Xbox Series X/S has supported since launch. There’s no denying the success of Sony’s PlayStation 4 console. The PS4 is one of the best-selling consoles ever made, and has seen its fair share of hugely successful video game releases. The latest update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which introduced 8 vs. 8 Team Deathmatch, has not gone smoothly. Red Dead Redemption 2 has been a huge hit for its developer, Rockstar Games, and the game continues to get a steady stream of content. The cowboy western based game managed to live up to its predecessor, however, a new PC mod for the game pays homage to an even earlier part of Rockstar’s history. Rockstar previously had a hidden mini-game in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas entitled “Hot Coffee”. The hidden part of the game became infamous and many searched for it....

It’s come to light that the recently revealed Redfall from Arkane Austin may have been in development for some time, with work starting on the game as far back as 2017. As spotted by Klobrille, Twitter user Timur222 found the information on the LinkedIn profile of former Senior Level Architect Francisco Cruz III. Though Cruz himself departed Arkane in 2018, his profile lists that he worked on the vampire shooter from August 2017, including very early work such as research and development, prototyping and incubation....

Last night brought us our best look yet at Capcom’s ambitious Resident Evil 4 remake, which Eurogamer’s editor-in-chief Martin has now got hands-on time with. In a separate round of interviews, Capcom staff have been discussing the project further - including the original’s slightly contentious inclusion of button-mashing quick-time events (QTEs). The good news here is the Resi 4 remake will tone these down - and in-game cut-scenes will no longer force you to quickly pick up the controller and spam a button to avoid death....
