This has been done by way of limited edition versions of the console as well as through the release of a great variety of DualShock controllers. The PlayStation 4 Pro “is not the start of a new generation nor is it a console that’s going to blur the line between generations,” PlayStation system architect Mark Cerny has said. Speaking with PlayStation Blog, Cerny explained how the Pro will sit alongside the existing PS4. “At the start of a generation there’s a lot of the adjustment and learning as the developers dig into the tools and technologies that we provide them....

The developer behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has confirmed that it is bringing a Training Mode into the mix as part of its ongoing ‘Fix PUBG’ initiative. Training Mode does pretty much what you would expect, with players able to try out a bunch of features, including weapons and vehicles. In addition, you can also test your might at stuff like parachuting and vaulting, which you’ll have to put to good use in a match if you ever want to secure that victory chicken dinner....

Quantic Dream’s David Cage and Guillaume de Fondaumiere have denied allegations published in the French media over the weekend that the studio has an unhealthy culture including overworking staff and racist and sexist jokes, and that they as individuals have both behaved inappropriately towards staff. The reports in question, by LeMonde, Canard PC and Mediapart, include interviews with former employees describing the studio culture as ‘toxic’, and that Cage demands long working hours from his staff and allegedly does not listen to others well....

As a beloved and lucrative franchise, Pokémon character designs are considered top-notch and revolutionary. Just think that every generation features numerous unique creations from the minds of creators. Living in Tokyo for a year, one of my favorite pastimes was to visit the Pokémon Center in Ikebukuro to discover all of the newest Pokémon merchandise, from plushies to action figures. UPDATE: Resident Evil 5 will launch on both PS4 and Xbox One on June 28, Capcom has confirmed to VideoGamer.com. ORIGINAL STORY: Resident Evil 5 will release on Xbox One on June 28, according to a listing on Xbox.com. The date has yet to be officially announced by Capcom but fits in with the summer timeline previously confirmed by the publisher. If it’s accurate you should probably expect the PS4 version to arrive on the same day....

Capcom’s Resident Evil HD Remaster has sold over one million units worldwide, a feat the publisher is extremely pleased with for a remaster release. The publisher noted that the one million figure is a “remarkably high volume for a remastered title”. Capcom added that the “digital download version has made a particularly significant contribution to the strong sales of Resident Evil”. The game previously set a new record for the biggest selling day one digital title on PSN and is Capcom’s fastest selling digital game across Europe and North America....

As part of the Resident Evil Showcase on Oct. 20, 2022, Capcom released more details regarding Resident Evil Re:Verse’s launch and future content plans. Perhaps the largest reveal for the game came with the confirmation of crossplay, which will pit players as iconic Resident Evil characters against one another across all platforms. Additionally, although the game won’t fully launch until Oct. 28, there will be an early access period for players who currently own Resident Evil Village....

Publisher Numskull Games and developer Ground Shatter have announced that buddy cop FPS RICO London will launch on consoles and PC this September. The game takes place all in one night in London on New Year’s Eve 1999. Playing as a pair of cops, you’ll be making your way up a high-rise tower as you take down a bunch of East end gangsters trying to stop you from making your way to the top of the building....

Blizzard have launched their regular annual Winter Wonderland event in Overwatch, with this year’s edition bringing along some new skins and a new version of Mei’s regular festive mode. This year dubbed ‘Snowball Deathmatch’ it sees two teams made of Meis with their own snowball guns, but this time they have the ability to ‘catch’ thrown snowballs to replenish their own ammo. Whoever racks up 15 eliminations first wins. Naturally, there’s a bunch of new cosmetics to nab – including a set of challenges that can allow you to earn skins like Soldier 76’s Ugly Sweater skin, a Holly skin for Moira and a Snow Angel skin for Mercy, all of Epic rarity....

Last week, it was reported that Blizzard was testing nerfs for various Overwatch characters in the PTR. Those nerfs and other hero balance changes have now made their way to the full game, with some tweaks. With the new Overwatch update, Blizzard has nerfed Hanzo by reducing the damage of his Storm Arrows from 70 to 60. Reaper, meanwhile, has had his healing reduced from 40% to 30% of damage dealt....

Rome was not built in a day, that much is true. What’s also true is that we only have to wait a few more days until Paradox Interactive’s Imperator: Rome is fully built and ready to arrive on PCs. With the handheld console having amassed so many beloved exclusives over its time on the market, it hasn’t come as a surprise to PlayStation fans that a number of the PSP’s biggest games have resurfaced on the PlayStation 4. Among franchises like LocoRoco, one of the biggest PSP titles to makes it ways to the console was Patapon, the popular rhythm action game from Sony. It was massively successful on the handheld console and was welcomed back with open arms on the PlayStation 4, so now it appears Sony is bringing the cult franchise back for another remastered offering....

To Pathfinder fans, it’s probably no surprise it only took one day for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous to reach its Kickstarter campaign goal of $300,000. The forthcoming video game release from Owlcat is a follow up to 2018’s Pathfinder: Kingmaker. I recently had the chance to play through a demo of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, which is an adaptation of the 2013 Pathfinder card game’s Adventure Path of the same name....

Konami has announced that its demo for PES 2019 is now available to download for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The playable teaser of this year’s footie outing includes 12 teams to have a kickabout with, including Liverpool PC, FC Barcelona, and Inter Milan, as well as two stadiums: FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou and FC Schalke 04’s VELTINS-Arena. ‘We are very excited to finally be able to share the PES 2019 demo with our fans,’ commented Jonas Lygaard, Senior Director Brand & Business Development at Konami Digital Entertainment B....

Sega just announced via press release that Phantasy Online 2: New Genesis will finally come for PS4 in the west. The release will happen on August 31, 2022, finally opening the game to a new audience after the original western release only happened for Xbox and PC. Strangely, the Japanese version has always been available for PS4 and Nintendo Switch (via cloud) in Japan. At the moment, there is no word about possible launches of the Switch cloud service in the west....

This past week Sony took a major step toward the next generation of PlayStation consoles, officially announcing the PS5 by name and confirming that it’s launching during the holiday season in 2020. Sony had previously announced it was working on a next-generation console, even confirming some hardware details, but the PS5 name and launch window were only just confirmed. Continuing from those new revelations, Sony has more to share. New details about the PS5 hardware, namely its CPU, are now available....

New Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier (formerly of Kotaku) claims that sources have informed him that Sony intends to host a PlayStation 5 virtual event next week. The report (which is based on information coming from “people with direct knowledge of the matter”) alleges that the current plan is for Sony to host a virtual event on June 3. However, the sources in question have indicated that the exact time, date, and other specific details are subject to change....
