Overwatch’s latest hero is due out on July 24, developer Blizzard Entertainment has announced. In case you missed it, Wrecking Ball is basically a weaponised escape pod piloted by a fury chap named Hammond. Hammond also happens to be a hamster, which to be fair makes a lot of sense given his choice of weapon. Wrecking Ball falls into the Tank category, and therefore packs a mean punch. He’s one of the Lunar colony’s many experiments and originally lived close to Winston, though later fled, modified his escape pod into the titular Wrecking Ball, and took to the outlands of Junkertown....

Perfect Dark’s game director, Dan Neuburger, has seemingly left his position at The Initiative. According to his LinkedIn profile (thanks Resetera), Neuburger left the studio last month after three years and eight months there. He had previously worked on the rebooted Tomb Raider games at Crystal Dynamics, which, coincidentally enough, is co-developing the Perfect Dark remake alongside The Initiative. At the time of writing, Neuburger has not detailed his next steps, and The Initiative has not announced his replacement....

Platinum Games’ latest venture is an action game that will round out the “hero” title trilogy, currently codenamed “Project GG” (via GameSpot). After Sony officially confirmed the PlayStation 5 release date for next November there was no question that development on the console is moving full speed ahead. PlayStation has announced that it will be rolling out support for streaming 1080p capable games from this week. Previously, the subscription service had allowed streaming games capped at a maximum resolution of 720p, but going forward as the capability rolls out across the regions, you’ll now be able to enjoy compatible PlayStation 4 titles on the service at 1080p when playing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. On January 25, the 2020 Chinese New Year will ring in the Year of the Rat. To celebrate, Niantic’s mobile augmented reality game Pokemon GO will add the Minccino line to its available roster of Generation 5 monsters as part of its annual Lunar New Year Event lasting between 1:00 p.m. PST on January 24 and 1:00 p.m. PST on February 3, 2020. Mincinno will be featured in Limited Research tasks and 5 km eggs, joining Darumaka (who will be a likely hatch from 7 km eggs alongside Shuckle and Foongus) as a new addition to Pokemon GO....

Valve and Nvidia have announced a December release date for the graphically enhanced puzzler Portal RTX. The free update will be available on December 8, and will be an entirely free download to existing owners of Portal as official DLC.
