The original was great, I felt, as it brought intuitive detective gameplay and some refreshing twists on the well-known Batman mythos. Batman: The Enemy Within builds on the original’s foundation, while still including Telltale’s brand of branching narratives and choices that aren’t always always choices. Regardless, generally Telltale games have included stories interesting enough to carry you through their multiple episodes....

When I was young during the waning days of the arcade, I spent a lot of time playing Raiden. The beautifully pixelated bullet hell shooter devoured many of my quarters in the day. I’d like to think I helped contribute to its many sequels. One of which, Raiden IV, has seen many ports and revisions over the years since launching in 2007. The last version, OverKill, released in 2015. But soon, Raiden IV x MIKADO remix will arrive, adding more modes, features, and music to the game early next year....

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a wildly fantastic game, and while it does have its gameplay flaws, no one can deny the stunning quality of its environments. If Red Dead Redemption 2 had merely consisted of walking around in its beautiful world, that might have been enough to make it game of the year. But that’s just one of the many vagaries that plague this threadbare little film, which essentially takes place in two locations and is packed with enough pseudo-scientific nonsense to sink even cheesy old TV shows like Lost in Space or Time Tunnel....

The Resident Evil 3 remake will offer two new dodge attacks for players to use against enemies, a developer has confirmed. Capcom has made several changes to the game compared to the original release, like the decision to make Nemesis a much scarier enemy. Speaking to the Official Xbox Magazine in issue 188, April 2020, Resident Evil 3 remake producer Peter Fabiano revealed that the game will have two attacks, one called the Quick Step and one called Perfect Dodge....

Pandemic Express: Zombie Escape is new to Early Access on Steam. Part zombie escape, part first person shooter, this quirky game has a lot of potential. You start off in a crowded train station, with 29 other players. Once the match begins there is a countdown and then the lights go out. One player in the lobby becomes infected the second the clock hits zero. They then have to infect as many of the humans around them as possible, before the doors open and everyone runs....

VR games can be just as worth playing as others, but the relatively small number of customers means that widespread appeal is rather impossible. Eric Chahi, creator of such classics as Flashback, Another World, and Heart of Darkness, along with his team at Pixel Reef, released the first-person VR adventure game, Paper Beast, earlier this year. But now with Paper Beast: Folded Edition, anyone and everyone can play it, as the game now has a non-VR version....

An interview with the developers of Persona 5 Scramble has revealed that the original plans for the highly anticipated Persona 5 sequel were to create a Persona Warriors-type game.
