Year Four of Siege kicked off on March 6th, 2019 with the introduction of Operation Burnt Horizon. Three more expansion updates followed, and with them new features, updates and f course, operators. All in all, 2019 was a great year for Siege. The game had some well needed quality of life changes and tweaks made while it maintained and grew in popularity. Some maps were reworked as were some operators, and while things still aren’t perfect, Ubisoft is trying to make the game as balanced as they can while still maintaining the right amount of competitiveness within the community....

Gears 5 is here in all of its messy and gory glory. Over the years, the Gears series has given players an assortment of highly volatile weapons to eradicate Locust, Swarm, and enemy players alike. Multiple members of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart‘s development team have praised the production of the game, saying it was made in a “completely crunch free” environment at Insomniac Games. The first tweet came from designer Grant Parker, who said “I can’t speak for anyone on the team but myself, but I didn’t crunch once. 40h weeks the whole time. It is possible to work on a great game w/o suffering....

Today, Rockstar Games has unveiled a brand new set of bonuses, discounts, and more that will be heading to Red Dead Online. This month, players will be able to earn double the usual XP and Gold while in Free Roam Missions and in Call to Arms, as well as some serious 3x rewards when clearing out Gang Hideouts. This month’s Community Outfit, “The Rambler,” can also be picked up for free at local Tailors or directly through the Wheeler, Rawson & Co....

At this point, everyone knows the Epic Games Store drill. The Fortnite kings over at Epic Games give out a free game every week, allowing players to jump in and experience a new title for no cost. It’s a good deal for simply having the Epic Games Store launcher installed, as you’ll probably find a game you’re interested in sooner or later. Today, Capcom officially announced that a Resident Evil 4 remake would be coming to consoles and PC on Mar. 24, 2023. Right after this announcement, it was also revealed that Resident Evil: Village would be making its way to PSVR2 in June 2022. You can check out the trailers for each of them below. This news came by way of the recent State of Play event for PlayStation. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any real gameplay footage for either game shown off, so we’ll just have to wait and see if there are any signification changes coming when we get closer to each release date, especially for Resident Evil 4’s remake....

Metroid Prime 4 has been delayed, with development being handed to Retro Studios, the studio that brought the franchise to modern audiences — but it’s time Retro moves on from that series. This review contains spoilers. 3.11 The Red Dahlia “Forget it Jughead, it’s Riverdale.” Say what you will about Riverdale, but one thing the show never shies away from is a willingness to experiment with its formula. Just like last season’s musical instalment or the recent flashback episode, The Black Dahlia had the show shaking up the status quo by doing its own take on film noir. Thematically, this is the easily most succesful genre homage to date because it so skillfully adapts itself to Jughead’s hard boiled (and often deeply silly) narration....

Overwatch has been patched to support PS4 Pro, although it isn’t yet clear what the update does. Support for Sony’s new console was introduced via a major new 2.0 update released yesterday, but Blizzard’s patch notes don’t offer any indication as to how the game has been enhanced, simply stating that they’ve “Added PS4 Pro Support”. An early report on NeoGAF suggests that the game’s UI may have been updated to run at native 4K, with the game itself still running at 1080p....

Overkill has permanently reduced the price of Payday 2 and a range of the game’s DLC on Steam. The discount knocks up to 44 per cent off the original cost, which the developer hopes will encourage players to “purchase a DLC that you might have been missing, or introduce a friend to the world of thieves and heistery”. The reductions arrive prior to the release of Payday 2: Crimewave Edition on PS4 and Xbox One next month, which packs in the original game plus a year’s worth of DLC for around £35....

Xbox Game Studios developer The Initiative has formally announced that they’re indeed working on a reboot of the Perfect Dark series, and shown off a first trailer for the game. In an accompanying video interview, various members of the team including game director Dan Neuburger and lead writer Christine Thompson spoke on how the game will focus on the idea of eco-sci fi, and how an ecological disaster that affected the world on a global scale was seemingly allivated by corporations with a shady agenda....

Atlus has released a new trailer for its upcoming expanded re-release of Persona 5, centered on the game’s brand new certified new salt bae, Takuto Maruki. If you’re wondering just what makes him salt bae, in a scene featured in the trailer, Maruki, well, does the salt bae thing. It’s as simple (and silly) as that. The next batch of Xbox Game Pass games for the rest of September have been announced. As detailed by the Xbox Wire, we kick off with 2D action platformer Flynn: Son of Crimson launching tomorrow. That’s followed by three delightful indie titles; I Am Fish, SkateBird and puzzler Superliminal on September 16. The day after sees stealth ninja game sequel Aragami 2 turn up on September 17. Narrative adventure Lost Words: Beyond the Page drops on September 23, alongside Sable and underwater survival sequel Subnautica: Below Zero....

Plants Vs Zombies has just turned ten years old. The well-loved tower defense game celebrated its 10 year anniversary on May 5th, and its creator, George Fan, and lead artist, Rich Werner, took to Twitter to celebrate. Throughout the day, they shared some original sketches and gave fans an insight into the game’s history and development. The first drawing from Fan is recognizable as the game we all know and love, but the notes and jottings which accompany it portray a few major changes....

Just a little over a month since PlayStation discounted over 400 different game titles on its site, the store has announced its newest Halloween Sale. And this time, there are no tricks. Only treats. A lot of treats. To celebrate the spookiest time of the year, PlayStation has slashed prices for nearly 300 of its scariest titles, with discounts up to 90% on select games. The sale runs now until November 1 at 8 AM PT, giving fans plenty of time to snatch up some terrifying titles....

Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced a price reduction for the PlayStation Portable. Starting February 27, 2011, the system will be available for $129.99, down from its current price of $169.99. This move takes place one month to the day ahead of the North American launch of Nintendo’s 3DS, which will retail for $249.99. Of course, Sony has their own next generation handheld on deck, the NGP, due to launch later this year at an as-yet undisclosed price....

Since originally Pokémon Red & Blue released on the Nintendo Game Boy, none of the sprites featured color. This means that is wasn’t until Pokémon Silver & Gold that players knew what a shiny pokémon was.
