Earlier last month we gave you the first part of the opening cinematic to Disney Epic Mickey. When we last left him our precocious yellow-shoe’d protagonist had unleashed a dastardly evil as a result of toying with the sorcerer’s magical paintbrush. All seemed well for a time but finally the dark blot returned and captured Mickey. Finally, part two of the cinematic has been revealed and it sets up the first enemy encounter nicely along with introducing all of the major players contained within the game....

E-Line Media’s upcoming game Beyond Blue has been described as a “playable documentary” that lets gamers explore the vast world beneath the oceans of the world. While the description is accurate, early gameplay reveals a stunning underwater simulator that will allow players to experience a world they may only have dreamed of until now. Players take on the role of Mirai, a deep-water explorer and scientist in the not so distant future....

We saw a lot of games that managed to excel in 2020, and those that fell flat. Still, with the year drawing to a close, it’s time to look forward to what 2021 can bring. The Persona RPG’s are predominantly known for their turn-based combat against supernatural demons, fantastic writing and storytelling skills, ensemble casts full of complex and compelling characters, and highly realistic and engaging social interaction simulations. Fans have fallen in love with this series that explores the recurring themes of humanity, friendship, and morality - all through the lens of various silent protagonists who live in modern-day Japan. The developers at Atlus have locked down a formula that has served them and Persona fans for over two decades....

Popular video game streamer PewDiePie has officially become the first single content creator to pass the 100 million subscriber mark on YouTube. PewDiePie has pushed towards this goal for a while since he began competing with another popular YouTube channel called T-Series. The two had a rivalry for a while which resulted in a bunch of fun jabs from both parties, but eventually T-Series took a large enough lead that PewDiePie could not catch up....

The highly anticipated overhaul developer Kinetic Games promised was coming to Phasmophobia is here. Starting now, the update, called Exposition, is live. The update brings a host of changes to the systems within Phasmophobia, while also including new equipment, two more ghosts to hunt, and a sprint rework. It’s not a small update, by any means. Hell, even the lighting system has been changed. And that’s not even all of it....

A recent Sony patent suggests that the company may be working on a new A.I. system which could replace leavers in multiplayer matches. Generation VII of Pokémon introduced a number of changes that proved to be fan favorites, controversial tweaks, and outright despised features. It also gave us a number of powerful and capable Pokémon that have been defining competitive teams for some time now. This competitive team is a mix of defense and offense to keep your enemies on their toes, it’s also incredibly fun and fans have had good things to say about many of the Pokémon on this list....

Pokéballs are basically the universal tool for trainers in just about every Pokémon game released. Of course, you’ll ultimately need a band of strong, capable monsters fighting for you, but, to even build up your army in the first place, you’ll need to be well-equipped with at least a decent collection of Pokéballs; preferably of varying kinds. But, after several iterations of Pokémon, there’s naturally been an increase in these varieties, making it all the more difficult to determine which are worth scouring and shelling out for, and which aren’t worth the trouble....

There has been a significant change to the competitive landscape of Pokémon GO, as Shadow Pokémon now receive a 10% attack boost for each of their attacks. This means that a powered up Shadow Pokémon can now be a powerhouse in competitive battles, and some players aren’t exactly happy about it. In the past, Shadow Pokémon had been significantly weaker than regular or purified monsters. With a lower CP, weaker attacks, and a lower chance at having good stats, Shadow Pokémon had virtually no role in competitive battles....

Unown locations are a mainstay of the Pokémon universe. Whether it’s writing on cave walls, or - well, mostly just writing on cave walls - the Symbol Pokémon (or ‘alphabet’ Pokémon) is there to literally spell things out for you. Pokémon Legends Arceus is no different, with an Unown Dex of its own, and 26 letters - and two punctuation marks - to find to gain a completed Dex entry....

The Generation Nine Pokémon games have made EV training easier than ever before. The improved approachability has made it possible for regular players to create competitive teams without spending several hours doing so. Xbox One users who digitally pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 before October 7 and have their console set to Energy Saving mode may have downloaded an incorrect version of the game, Activision has warned. The issue appears to be identical to the one suffered by Halo 5, with pre-order customers advised to check the size of their pre-load to determine whether they do or do not have the correct files....

Start prepping those straightjackets, wardens. Your dreams of furthering your prison empire are about to get even more intense. This weekend at PDXCON, Paradox Interactive announced that Prison Architect‘s expansion, Psych Ward: Warden’s Edition, will release on PC on November 21. Prison Architect is a popular prison management game originally developed by Introversion Software. Prison Architect won a BAFTA in 2016, so it is definitely worth checking out. Psych Ward was developed by Double Eleven and first released on consoles in 2017....

While every Tom, Dick, and Harry is busy having a crack at PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, its developer has conceded it has no current roadmap in place for PUBG 2.0 or beyond just yet. Speaking with GI.biz, PUBG boss Chang Han Kim revealed that the team is busy focusing on the current incarnation of the every-man-for-himself shooter, and is more concerned with getting out of Early Access. There’s also the prospect of a PS4 version once Microsoft’s timed-exclusivity deal has expired....

It seems folks who want to play Battle Royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be able to get their chicken dinner fix on the go soon, thanks to a deal struck between developer Bluehole and Chinese publisher Tencent. As reported by MCV, the deal will see Tencent work on a mobile port of the shooter with original developer Bluehole. This is part of its new agreement to publish the game in China detailed in an announcement blog post (in Chinese) on the publisher’s website....

PlayerUnknonw’s Battlegrounds is approaching its sixth season of content but season 6 of PUBG isn’t just another round of new customizations and a battle pass. PUBG Corp. is making some big changes and is adding a lot of great new content, too. In a new announcement, PUBG Corp. revealed that Season 6 will start with the addition of a brand new 2x2 map and a Black Zone feature, which appears to be a form of targeted missile strike....

In the Before Time, a pandemic and a global shutdown ago, the Batman comics were hurtling towards a huge anniversary issue with a new creative team and a hot new character sending back issue prices through the roof. Punchline was introduced in a cameo in James Tynion IV and Jorge Jimenez’s Batman #89, and the issue immediately flew off the shelves. Then she showed up in Hell Arisen #3 from Tynion and Steve Epting, and that issue also sold like hotcakes....

Ever get the feeling that the world is against you? Well, thank god you aren’t Rage 2 protagonist Walker, as that’s what he’s facing – literally. The latest trailer for the upcoming shooter sees the wasteland chucking everything but the kitchen sink against the poor fella. The trailer looks at a bunch of enemies that you’ll be facing in the adrenaline-pumping sequel, although Walker seems pretty content at bringing the fight to his foes first....

Rainbow Six Siege’s first major update has been released offering a host of tweaks and fixes for all versions, but most excitingly a new Ultra-HD Texture Pack for PC gamers. “The Ultra-HD texture pack will upgrade some of the most common textures in the game, such as characters, and weapons, to a new level of visual fidelity,” explains Ubisoft. “This higher level of detail can be best appreciated while playing the game in 4K resolution, but it’s not limited to that....
