After struggling with reaching a potential release date of November, it looks like Infinity Ward, under the direction of Activision, has enlisted the help of developer Sledgehammer Games to complete their latest Call of Duty game, perhaps titled Modern Warfare 3. Most likely not being able to meet the strict time demands needed to put out a top tier title after having lost their leadership and a ton of creative talent, Activision has not only turned to Sledgehammer but also to Raven Software to act as reinforcements, boosting the man power....

Over the last few years, the demand for PCs increased as more people started working from home. This wasn’t entirely surprising, but it resulted in massive spikes in sales of PC hardware. Demand has dropped since then, and Taiwan-based motherboard manufacturers now expect sales to drop by 20-30%, as reported by Digitimes. And with the popularity of cryptocurrency dwindling as time goes on, we’re also seeing the demand for graphics cards lessen....

Capcom has confirmed that development is underway on DLC for Resident Evil Village. The news came in an very brief update during the company’s E3 Showcase yesterday evening. We didn’t get much more than that, aside from the DLC will be “by popular demand” and we’ll get more info soon. We did, however, get an update on free multiplayer component Resident Evil RE: Verse thanks to producer Tsuyoshi Kanda. He confirmed the spin-off, free to owners of Village, will finally release next month after it missed that game’s launch....

Resogun is being updated to support 4K and HDR on PS4 Pro, developer Housemarque has announced. “Imagine all of the voxels, particle effects and the fast-paced action even in greater, more eye-candy indulged experience,” said the studio. The studio doesn’t have a release date for the update, but says it should be “coming soon enough”. A skilled forger has been discovered after years of selling retro games and memorabilia to unsuspecting collectors. The Big Box PC Game Collectors group has ousted Enrico Ricciardi after several members came forward with counterfeit copies of classic games which they had purchased from Ricciardi. The group has now shared a public document (via Kotaku) detailing its investigation and subsequent evidence against Ricciardi. This document states: “If you have received games from [Ricciardi], check them closely and compare with known originals....

Having had a chance to check out this new game at a packed-out Nintendo event in London, however, we’re now able to report that Ring Fit Adventure doesn’t really feel like a successor to anything – it’s very much its own product, with unique ideas in abundance....

The first episode in a new Rise of the Tomb Raider video series has launched which aims to take a closer look at the gameplay mechanics “central to Lara Croft’s journey of destiny and discovery”. Puzzle games are tricky for me. I’m a big fan of games like Columns, Puyo Puyo and Magical Drop, but something has always gotten in the way of that fandom: my colorblindness. Psyonix has announced that a physical version of motorised football hit Rocket League’s Nintendo Switch edition will be making its way to retail shelves next month. North America will get it first on January 16, while the UK will get it ten days later on January 26. Dubbed the ‘Collector’s Edition’ this version of the game will come bundled with a host of DLC for the game, including: the Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle Cars, Chaos Run, Aftershock, Marauder, Esper and Masamune DLC packs, as well as a bunch of customisation options from DC’s The Flash as part of the package’s recently announced deal with Warner Bros who’ll be responsible for this retail version as previously reported....

BioWare announced via Twitter that PC, PS4 and Xbox One players can play a free 10 hour trial of Mass Effect Andromeda, right this very second. DualShockers reports that the free trial, which you can download via your platform’s relevant digital store or by heading to the official Mass Effect website, is the same as the EA Access trial that’s been available to subscribers of that service for the past number of months....

PlayStation has announced that it’s to perform a mild overhaul of the trophy system ahead of PlayStation 5’s launch later this year, with the changes to rollout from this evening. As per the PlayStation blog, trophy levels are being upped from 1-100 to 1-999, increasing the levels by a factor of ten. Furthermore, there’ll now be an adjustment to the Trophy icon on PlayStation 5 and on the PlayStation 5, with three tiers added to the Bronze, Silver and Gold categories as shown in the below infographic....

Raids in Pokémon GO are the best way for trainers to get their hands on high-powered Pokémon, most of which are perfect for battling with. That’s more important than ever what with the launch of the GO Battle League. Raids are also sometimes the only place a trainer can catch a Pokémon, such as a legendary, and they don’t come easy. Sony hasn’t shared anything official about PlayStation 5 yet, but a new patent filing has strongly suggested that backwards compatibility will indeed be featured in the next-generation console. It’s the second patent we’ve heard about, too, so something is obviously bubbling away at Sony HQ. This latest filing doesn’t really need much explaining, and is simply called ‘Simulation of legacy bus operation for backward compatibility.’ It was filed at the same time as the previous one, although it’s only now that details have been published (via GearNuke)....

PUBG Mobile is teaming up with Resident Evil 2 to bring yet another weird crossover event to the game. We’re not quite sure what is going on over at PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Last month, everyone’s favorite gritty battle royale game teamed up with DC Comics to bring some Suicide Squad-themed skins to the game. Players could live out their comic book villain fantasies by appearing as either The Joker or Harley Quinn, complete with baseball bat and giant revolver....

PUBG’s latest patch is a sizable one: it introduces the Spike Trap, remodels Vikendi, and adds the new Way Point feature, along with a host of other changes. So, the Spike Trap is a new item that is available in all maps right now. The player will throw the Spike Trap to lay it out and it will puncture the tires of any vehicle that crosses it. Be aware, it won’t damage the vehicle health and will be consumed with one use, but it will rain on the opposition’s parade quite satisfactorily....
