The Switch is Mario on the sofa or sat up in bed, sure, but it’s also Mario under a tree in the park, in a window seat on the bus or a train as forests strobe past....

According to the most recent trailer, Pokémon Sword & Shield may be making history as the first Pokémon game to include an autosave feature. During the September 4th Nintendo Direct, a new trailer dropped for the upcoming Pokémon RPG, where fans were treated to four new features to look out for, such as avatar customizations and a new type of Pokémon you can eat. However, fans were sharp to notice something hidden in the trailer that also appears to be new - an autosave ability....

Minecraft Earth, the augmented reality mobile title based off Mojang’s mega-hit, will be entering early access soon. It was announced during MineCon that early access will be starting in October, with Minecraft: Earth planned for a full release by year end. Minecraft Earth was announced earlier this year, and offers an experience of enjoying Minecraft in the real world. It’s essentially like Pokemon GO, but instead of catching monsters, players explore created areas and earn rewards via Minecraft-oriented gameplay....

During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that the Portal series will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Dubbed the Portal: Companion Collection, both games will be arriving on the system. Toxic Games has announced that brain-bending puzzler Q.U.B.E. 2 will be released for Nintendo Switch later this month. You’ll be able to pick up a digital or physical version of the game. Yes, physical; this is the first time that a Q.U.B.E. game will be available at old-fashioned, brick-and-mortar retailers. Pre-orders will go live on February 13, while the game itself will launch on February 14. However, if you want the retail copy, then you’ll have to get your order in sharpish....

Get ready to see more people using the New England Patriots online in Madden 11, because Randy Moss is getting an upgrade. The Czar of Madden ratings, Donny Moore, says that the New England wide receiver will receive the first 100 rating of this year’s game as part of a roster update scheduled for release this Friday. Moss will be upgraded from a 99 to a 100 spectacular catch rating. Moore said, in an interview with ESPN, that the main reason Moss is getting the honor is because of his one-handed touchdown catch over star the New York Jets’ cornerback Darrelle Revis in last Sunday’s loss....

The launch of the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has been a rocky one for fans of Rockstar Games’ Wild West action game. The publisher hopes to make up for early performance issues with the game by offering fans a care package for Red Dead Online through the end of the holiday season. Fan excitement for the higher graphical fidelity and performance of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC hit a snag when the game’s launch on Rockstar’s own launcher and the Epic Games Store brought stuttering and crashing problems....

Red Dead Online’s beta has received a fresh batch of content this week, with Target Races now available for Rockstar’s Wild West opus. Target Races offer a nice spin on the usual horse-riding mechanics seen in the main game. You start off with a bow and arrow, and have to hit targets in order to boost your horse’s stamina to keep you ahead of the pack. You can also nab better weapons and stamina pickups, which are dotted throughout the course....

Red Dead Redemption 2 has an impressive variety of wildlife running around its expansive plains. Foxes, wolves, bears, skunks, buffalo, and of course, cougars can seen over the course of a typical day of riding West Elizabeth’s dusty trails. It’s a testament to Rockstar’s talent and technology that they’re able to render such realistic depictions of these animals leading to an immersive and breath-taking experience. Three years after it released on PC, Red Dead Redemption 2 broke its all-time peak of concurrent players yesterday. Single-player DLC for the game looks unlikely, and the bundled multiplayer offering Red Dead Online was pronounced “dead” by its community of players after developer Rockstar confirmed it would no longer push major updates to the game to shift development to Grand Theft Auto 6 instead. That hasn’t put people off enjoying Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, however (with some help from the Thanksgiving holidays across the pond and Steam’s autumn sale)....

Housemarque’s latest shoot-em-up adventure Returnal is nearly upon us, and as such the studio has released another HouseCast interview video with members of the development team, with the latest offering us a deeper insight into the game’s narrative.
