The Quake remaster just scored its second update since it’s release in August earlier this year. With this update, Quake Remastered gets a horde mode, while also adding improvements and fixes to the general experience. Fans of Quake should find a lot to like here. Players can now challenge themselves to slay — a lot. We’re talking entire hordes of enemies for as long as possible. Horde modes are no stranger to first-person shooter games at this point, with a little known game called Call of Duty having a horde mode in most of their releases of the past decade....

Post-apocalyptic shooter Rage 2 lands tomorrow, so while we start our engines in anticpation, Bethesda has revealed details of the additional content – some free, some paid – set to arrive for the game over the rest of the year. Revealing their content roadmap via the official Rage 2 Twitter account, the calendar reveals that we can expect bonus weapon skins and wasteland challenges as soon as later this month, alongisde the game’s first World Event entitled ‘Bring the Ruckus’....

The original Red Dead Redemption was one of the best games of the previous generation and fans couldn’t wait for Rockstar to make a sequel. Red Dead Redemption 2 had a lot to live up to when it was first announced. This would also be the first game from Rockstar for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Fortunately, Red Dead Redemption 2 lived up to expectations. It managed to tell an even better story than the previous one and Rockstar still shows that they are magicians when it comes to crafting open-worlds....

Bonding with your horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 is an important, but often overlooked, aspect of the game. Increasing your horse bonding level is relatively simple to do and can offer tremendous benefits during your time in the wild west. Four levels of horse bonding are available in Red Dead Redemption 2 and each stage offers a few different perks. Level 1 will increase a horse’s health and stamina. Level 2 grants players the ability to call their horses at greater distances during combat....

Ubisoft has announced that it has acquired Finnish developer RedLynx (best known for the Trials series of games). CEO of Ubisoft Yves Guillemot says he wants to bring the studio’s “powerful brands” to a broader range of platforms, and praised both the developer’s “long tail” sales and high replay value of its titles. Trials 2: Second Edition was released on PC back in 2008, while the more recent Trials HD was a hit on Xbox Live Arcade in 2009....

As someone who currently has Alan Wake firmly planted at the top of this year’s “Most Disappointing Games” list, my ears always perk up a bit whenever the fine gents from Remedy have anything to say about the game. So when Eurogamer got the chance to pick the brains of Mikko Rautalahti, the game’s writer, and franchise development head Oskari Hakiinen, I immediately dove into the interview. I was expecting them to aim their flashlights at some of the murkier points of the game’s development period, as well as shed some light on the final game, with thoughtful and reflective answers....

A new trailer released, giving us a better look at the new characters coming to The Mercenaries Additional Orders in Resident Evil Village. The trailer doesn’t tell us much more than the previous one from June, but it does show how Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu will play. These characters will be included in Resident Evil Village‘s Gold Edition. Even though Resident Evil Village brought Mercenaries mode back to the franchise, it was fairly lackluster, especially compared to Resident Evil 4‘s version, which had four playable characters and four maps with varying enemy types....

Most of you who are old enough to remember when Grant Mitchell went mental and smashed up the Queen Vic in EastEnders have probably played a Double Dragon game at some point. Chances are you haven’t played Return of Double Dragon, though. That’s okay, as it was only released in Japan back in 1992. Return of Double Dragon is the original version of Super Double Dragon (still keeping up?), the latter of which did see the light of day in the US....

Ring of Fire is a sci-fi noir game from Far Few Giants, and it follows a detective pursuing a radicalised serial killer in New London. Evidently, the game has a sharp and slick art style, which serves to cast the corners of New London in stark contrast and shadow. The killer’s victims are dotted around the city, and the prickly Detective Grosvenor must discern what links these murders together. In spite of the solarpunk setting, realism is at the core of Ring of Fire: conversations only occur once, and clues are not italicised or sparkling for the player....

With the launch of Overwatch 2, all the servers for one of the most popular fast-paced shooter video games have come to an end. That being said, there are several recurring characters you can play in the sequel. One of these includes the Tracer with tons of cavalry. While she has the lowest HP compared to other characters, she is a super fast runner character. And has a wide range of abilities up her sleeves....

Sega Sammy Creation revealed today a slot machine dedicated to the popular JRPG Persona 5. The fancy gambling machine, titled “Persona 5 for Reels” (for real, we’re not joking) was revealed with a trailer that boasted 15 million Persona games sold. Of course, we also get to see our familiar heroes performing in flashy animations that you can expect from a slot machine. Sega Sammy Creation’s latest casino slots are fancy slot machines designed to be completely digital, with the slot part projected over a large vertical screen....

Sony has increased the PlayStation 5 price, effective immediately, in most markets around the world. The console’s cost will rise by £30 in the UK and €50 in Europe, to £480/€550, or £390/€450 for the console’s disc-less digital version. Elsewhere around the world, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico and Canada will also see price rises. But the US will not see a price rise at this time. PlayStation boss Jim Ryan confirmed the price hikes this morning, and blamed “high global inflation rates, as well as adverse currency trends, impacting consumers and creating pressues on many industries”....

Acclaimed developer PMDG released a development update about its upcoming Boeing 737 add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, which is one of the most anticipated by the userbase at the moment. CEO Robert Randazzo provided information on what the team has been doing over the past week, and share that an internal beta date and release window have been set. Pheromosa is a member of the Ultra Beasts and can now be battled in five-star raids in Pokémon Go. Ultra Beasts are 11 extradimensional Pokémon and are part of Gen 7. Nihilego was the first Ultra Beast to appear in Pokémon Go, being released as part of Go Fest 2022 in June of that year, while Pheromosa was originally released during Go Fest Berlin in July 2022. Now, however, every player can battle Pheromosa - either in person or by using a Remote Raid Pass - so, if you want to add it to your Pokédex, it’s a good idea to know Pheromosa’s weaknesses and counters....

Sony has announced on its NA PlayStation Blog that the PS VR is getting a new bundle, which effectively reduces the price of entry to the virtual reality experience. Starting from September 1, Sony will release a new bundle for the PS VR with a PlayStation Camera for $399 USD ($499 CAD). Basically this adds the camera to the headset for nothing. Sony also confirmed that the camera inclusion will be a part of the standard PS VR bundle going forward....

Sony has announced that it has sold more than 525 million PlayStation consoles worldwide since 1994. To celebrate the milestone, the company is launching a Limited Edition 500 Million version of the PS4 Pro. The swanky special edition console will be limited to just 50,000 units, and will retail for $499.99. It’s more than just a bog-standard PS4 Pro, though. For starters, the 500 Million Limited Edition features a translucent design in a catching dark blue paint job with matching DualShock 4 controller....
