City builders have been a staple of the game industry ever since SimCity established itself over 30 years ago. Then, from the traditional tycoon design, emerged a different interpretation of the city builder. These newer games focused more on survival and early civilization as opposed to modern cityscapes. Recent years have seen this sub-genre expanded further with the likes of Banished, and now, Patron. Patron is a survival city-builder game developed and published by indie studio Overseer Games....

When translating a popular game to a virtual reality format, you run the risk of changing up how it plays for convenience. Sometimes you have to change the gameplay to make the experience better, like from a smooth-flowing run-around to point-and-click gameplay. Pokémon Go has hit $3.6 billion in global player spending since its launch in 2016. Sensor Tower reports that the monster-hunting game has steadily grown in popularity and profits over the past four years, with its most lucrative year generating $905 million in 2019. Earlier this year, there were months and months of rumors surrounding a potential Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake. Eventually, Ubisoft did announce the title, at one of its Ubisoft Forward events later in the year. It was initially scheduled to launch in January; however, it’s now been pushed back by a few months. We’re not sure Ubisoft was supposed to announce the delay right now though. In Prison Architect players build and manage a maximum security prison which must hold the most dangerous of criminals. PlayStation VR ships with an external processing box, but what exactly does it do? Digital Foundry has some answers, revealing the unit does not provide any additional GPU or processing support to the PS4. Senior Sony staff engineer Chris Norden revealed the box’s purpose during a GDC 2016 presentation. A surprising leak came through Wednesday morning about an unannounced Star Wars game. A PlayStation Network scraper bot that automatically posts new games added made a surprising reveal. “The game Maverick has been added to the european PSN!” read the message it posted, along with a single image. The image featured a logo for Star Wars: Project Maverick, with a Star Destroyer and several X-Wing spaceships in the background. As for what Project Maverick might be, it’s still a mystery....

Rockstar released the trophy/achievement list for their upcoming and highly anticipated (especially by me) game Red Dead Redemption.
