We knew that Microsoft was planning on releasing an Xbox 360/Kinect bundle this fall with a 4GB hard drive, but some evidence has surfaced that a “premium” bundle is on the horizon as well. A photo of the Australian packaging for the 4 gig bundle shows a 250GB version which will feature a gloss finish (as opposed to the 4 gig’s matte finish) console and headset. The 4GB bundle is scheduled for a November 4th release and will carry a $299....

UPDATE 2/9/22: PQube has issued a lengthy response to yesterday’s claims by indie developer Corecell, in which it was accused of witholding funds from the Thai studio behind AeternoBlade 2. The statement discusses issues with Corecell, and claims that while it was “prepared to pay the full guarantee for the game”, this was held back by “significant quality issues” it identified. PQube also offers a more general response to what it sees as the “inevitable” challenges of working with numerous developers over the years....

In a 42-minute YouTube video titled “YOU’VE BEEN LIED TO,” prominent YouTuber ProJared shed light on his version of the events that unfolded earlier this year regarding allegations that he solicited nude photos from minors. ProJared, whose real name is Jared Knabenbauer, had a successful YouTube channel until then-partner, Heidi O’Ferrall, accused him of cheating on her. She also claimed he’d been soliciting nude photos from fans for years, leading others to come forward with allegations that he was doing so from minors....

There have already been words said between these two when Epic launched the Fortnite battle royale mode last year, Bluehole was no impressed. According to the Korean Times, things are about to heat up. PUBG has now filed a copyright lawsuit against Epic Games which is asking a court to determine if Epic copied PUBG’s PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds when creating Fortnite. The case has been filed at the Seoul Central District Court against Epic Games Korea....

Namely, the French developer is now opening a new studio in Montreal, the most French city in the world not located in Europe. The new studio is bringing experienced talent to the ranks. Stéphane D’Astous, who has worked as the head of Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal, is coming in as general manager....

It’s no secret that Hidetaka Miyazaki loves poison swamps as much as we love his games. His self-confessed masochistic streak compels him to keep adding them. Even Dark Souls 2, which wasn’t directed by Miyazaki, didn’t give us respite from these sludgy slimepits. If it’s a Soulsborne: Ring Dies Twice game from From Software, it’ll have at least one poison swamp. That got the old brain cogs a-whirring. If all of these games have poison swamps and the big man behind them thinks they’re really important, it’s obvious that we can figure out which one is the objectively best game by rating the poison swamps!...

Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of some pretty strange things, which has left plenty to be discovered more than a year after the game’s initial release. All these details mingle together to lead to some pretty interesting events, including a random NPC becoming a vicious murderer without any real explanation. A recent video uploaded to YouTube by dmarlow310 shows Arthur Morgan enter a confrontation with an NPC, when suddenly another NPC turns around, runs over to the pair, and stabs the NPC Arthur is fighting in the neck, killing them pretty much instantly....

Update: Rockstar apparently shelved the initiative to bring Red Dead Redemption II to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This is according to Tez2, the same leaker who previously revealed that Rockstar scrapped plans for Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption remasters. In an exchange on Twitter (via VGC), someone asked whether it is safe to assume that these next-gen versions aren’t happening. Tez2 replied: “Yes. I’ve heard about those a long time ago....

PS3 game streaming service PlayStation Now doesn’t appear to have gained a huge audience in the UK – at least based on the complete lack of social media chat about the service – but Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is hoping to pick up some new subscribers with its latest high profile game additions. For £12.99 a month users can now get instant access to the Uncharted PS3 trilogy – though remember these are the games as there were on PS3 and not the PS4 remasters – plus Journey, FlOw, Flower and a selection of Ratchet & Clank and God of War titles....

The Xbox Live Arcade’s Game Feast has been under way with two games already released (Comic Jumper and Hydrophobia) and two more on their way before the end of the month. One of those games, Super Meat Boy, is working hard to label itself a standout title. In this new retro-inspired trailer, we get our first look at Super Meat Boy’s unique sense of humor. Looking like Loco Roco on steroids, Super Meat Boy touts itself as having a large number of levels spread out across a handful of worlds....

Housemarque has announced Returnal, a horror-roguelike in development for the PlayStation 5. This is the developer’s “biggest and most ambitious title yet,” after cutting its teeth on eclectic and exciting titles like Resogun, Nex Machina, and Matterfall. Stranded on an alien planet, the character is trapped in an endless cycle of death and resurrection, hunted by aggressive animals and killed by forces beyond her control. “Each time I awake, this planet seems somehow different,” says the narrator in the trailer....

Since its initial reveal in June 2020, Returnal has been one of the most anticipated third-person shooter roguelike games for PS5. You will quickly realize that the game is uncompromising even when you are in the early stages. The bigger issue, though, is a Returnal network error that prevents players from getting online. The error shows a pop-up stating “Unable to connect to online services. Reconnect through the pause menu”. If you are among those facing this issue, here’s how to fix this....

Recent announcements made by both SEGA and Blizzard Entertainment have detailed similar plans for the upcoming years of game development at each company. Both have a long history of making some fantastic games, as well as some less-than-stellar ones. Is it then better to focus on the old franchises that have been around for decades, or should something new be invested in? In the case of both of these companies, the decision seems primarily grounded towards seeking to maximize profits by exploiting existing brands that have an established fan base using the latest technology, most often seen today with a push towards mobile development....

2022 saw the long-awaited debut of The Batman, the film starring the Caped Crusader that spent many years in development hell after “Batfleck” spurned the title. It seems removing the DC Extended Universe connections did wonders, as the film dominated theaters and is set to spawn a series of shared universe television shows and prequels. As part of the reworked Batman universe, it’s been announced that the sequel to The Batman is penned for a release date....

Today Blizzard Entertainment had news to share for those Overwatch fans eagerly awaiting Overwatch 2. In order to bring the PvP part of the game to the fans sooner, the development team has decided to refocus and decouple it from the PvE part. As an effect, as explained by game director Aaron Keller, internal testing on PvP is beginning and a beta is going to be made available to players in late April....

The recent launch of Overwatch 2 has several bugs, issues, and crashing issues plaguing the gameplay. After grinding hard to unlock their favorite characters, players are unable to track their weekly challenges’ progress. For some players, the namely Hero challenges section is not appearing. While for others, the weekly challenges menu seems to be bugged. Due to this issue, players are unable to track their progress correctly, skipping or losing their progress....

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that it has given the boot to Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm’s paid loot boxes in Belgium. The decision comes as a result of the country’s Gambling Commission ruling in April that the loot boxes featured in games such as Overwatch, Star Wars Battlefront II, and FIFA 18 are in direct violation of Belgium’s gambling regulations. Writing in a statement, Blizzard was quick to note that gamers will still be able to earn loot boxes by playing the game, and that all regular in-game content is still available....

Over the past year, Twitch has proven unable to maintain any manner of consistency regarding its censorship and disciplinary actions against its streamers, and is once again maintaining this image by issuing a warning to popular Overwatch streamer Fareeha for violating Community Guidelines for hosting a “lingerie” stream. The problem, of course, is that Fareeha did nothing of the sort. Fareeha is known on Twitch for being a DPS main in Overwatch and argues that the claim she wore lingerie is ridiculous....

Not many game franchises can trace their origins back over four decades like Pac-Man. The hungry yellow character first jumped onto arcade screens back in 1980, and quickly became an all-time favorite. The franchise has seen many spin-offs and follow-up attempts since the original, but it’s always remained generally the same. Perhaps that’s why Bandai Namco decided to finally do things a little different this year. Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle is the latest the game in the franchise and it places a large emphasis on competitive multiplayer....
