Though the Nintendo GameCube may not be the most memorable console, the system is still an exciting piece of hardware that is often underrated. Sure, the Nintendo 64 brought the three-dimensional graphics to Nintendo games, but the GameCube polished the graphics and introduced some features that were not seen in previous Nintendo-branded consoles. The integrated system menu and the connectivity with its handheld sister console are among many examples gamers can cite....

Among the five offerings today, three are actual horror games. The first is Layers of Fear, which is a typical inclusion for any list of horror games. It’s joined by Silver Chains and Dead Age, each offering their own brand of Halloween hijinks. The other two games, however, probably won’t rattle you too much. Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl and Surf World Series make of the last two games of the package....

Sony has teased a new villain for Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man game on PlayStation 4, with Tombstone looking likely to get tangled in the masked superhero’s web-slinging antics. The hints come from the latest Daily Bugle issue that’s doing the rounds on the official PlayStation website, and gives mention of a street drug known as Grave Dust. Why does this mean Tombstone might be in the game, you ask? Well, this particular drug turns your skin gray and hardens it to the point where it looks like the victim has turned to stone....

Psychonauts 2 has a bit of side content, and you can take on Lili’s sidequest early on. Lili is understandably shaken up by the state her father’s in. You may not find her if you don’t look around, but she’s hanging out to the left of the HQ. That’s while facing it, not exiting. So, it’s on the right while on exiting. You get the picture. This little spot is actually Lili’s own getaway where she even does some, er, creative gardening....

The latest War Mode event in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds sees you murdering people on Erangel with a frying pan, some level 3 armour, a Molotov cocktail, and 20 frag grenades. What a lovely time for all, I’m sure. The event, Dodgebomb, begins at 3am BST tonight / tomorrow morning, and will be running until August 13. You’ll be dropped on the island as part of a ten-person team, taking on two other ten-person teams, with your goal being to reach 100 points before the timer runs out....

In promoting the availability of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ as a Switch launch title, publisher Nicalis has inadvertently revealed an image of the system’s dark user interface and confirmed a bunch of other indie games heading to the platform. The image, now deleted but never forgotten, features a shot of the Switch game selection menu which shows 1001 Spikes, The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ and Cave Story. Neither 1001 Spikes nor Cave Story had been announced for Switch....

A 10-hour trial of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is now available to download on PS4, Xbox One and PC, EA has announced. The time-limited trial gives you the chance to try out the whacky online shooter free of charge, with all progress, unlocks and achievements transferring over to the full game should you decide to pick it up. If you don’t use up all of your 10 hours before, the trial will come to an end at 6pm BST on May 10, 2016....

Remedy’s Quantum Break will launch for Xbox One on April 5, a new trailer for the game shown during the Xbox Gamescom conference has revealed. A new look at the title also revealed that Shawn Ashmore (Xmen’s Iceman) and Game of Thrones’ Aidan Gillen take key roles in the game. Check out the Gamescom trailer below. Broomstick League is coming to Steam this March, and it’s the unofficial Quidditch meets Rocket League crossover nobody asked for, but we absolutely must have. The layman might think people who love sport and people who love Harry Potter are two worlds that have nothing in common. Those people have obviously never heard of Quidditch, the sport played by wizards in the franchise. What’s not fair to Quidditch fans is the lack of opportunities to play the sport themselves....

Ubisoft’s lovable Rabbids are back, and now they’re heading to Mars on Netflix. Rabbids Invasion Special: Mission to Mars will launch for Netflix next month, on 18th February. This hour-long animated feature follows four seasons of CGI-animated Rabbid cartoons, and tells the story of a mission to terraform Mars which goes badly wrong. Here’s a trailer: Mission to Mars seems separate from the full-blown Rabbids movie project, which Ubisoft has has been slowly trying to get out of development hell since at least 2014....

The official Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Twitter account has been having fun overnight, tweeting about a unique crossover with several PlayStation Studios titles that’ll feature in the game when it launches later this week. A series of tweets featuring several PS exclusives eventually led to the unveiling of the Ryno 8, a new superweapon that can rip a hole in reality and will pull through objects from other PlayStation Studios games, including Naughty Dog’s Uncharted, Guerilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn, Sucker Punch’s Sly Raccoon and even Insomniac’s own rumoured-to-be-PlayStation bound former Xbox exclusive Sunset Overdrive....

Double Damage Games has released a new development roadmap for Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. This sci-fi space RPG is the sequel to 2017’s Rebel Galaxy, and the studio confirmed that they are hard at work on updates and patches for the game. Since its initial release in August, the studio has already released 15 patches. Prior to launch, the studio released an additional 12 patches based on player feedback. From what it looks like, Double Damage is committed to the game for the long haul....

Grand Theft Auto IV is, in many ways, the best game I have never been able to fully appreciate. The lighting, atmosphere, acting, and open world appealed to me on levels very few games have, before or since. Unfortunately, the physics-based control scheme presented a significant barrier between me and my intentions within the game, and Liberty City. They prevented me from doing exactly what I wanted, when I wanted, serving only to push me away from the game....

Castle in Resident Evil Village is a huge mansion with tons of doors and secret passages. Some of the doors are locked and required special items to unlock them. One of them is the door with the missing eye statue. It has a white face mask and this is where you are going to deal with one of the bosses after opening it. Resident Evil Village’s long-awaited new chapter is getting closer to its release - but it could have once been very different. What we’re getting is a DLC package known as the Winters Expansion, which will include a third-person mode for the base game, a rework of the Mercenaries Mode which will introduce new playable characters such as Lady Dimitrescu, and the new story-based chapter known as Shadows of Rose. Shadows of Rose will put Ethan Winters’ daughter into the spotlight as she makes her way through the consciousness of the Megamycete....

Respawn Entertainment has stated that there is no new Titanfall title in development, however, the lore of the game could live on in Apex Legends (via DualShockers). Though this is disappointing, it isn’t exceptionally surprising. In early 2019, Drew McCrory dismissed the rumours of Titanfall 3, saying that Apex Legends is its focus for now. Towards the end of that year, Electronic Arts drove the final nails into the coffin, with the statement that it wishes Respawn to remain “hyper-focused on Apex because we see there’s so much opportunity there....

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the winners of the 2022 BAFTA Games Awards today, and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Returnal took the most categories over other games released in 2021. The third-person shooter roguelike won in four categories, including Best Game and Performer In A Leading Role with Jane Perry as the protagonist, Selene Vassos. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, It Takes Two and Unpacking followed with two wins each with the home decoration game Unpacking receiving EE Game Of The Year....

At its Gamescom Indie World Showcase Nintendo announced Risk of Rain 2 is coming to Switch. The roguelike followup to 2013’s Risk of Rain was released in early access for PC back in March and will be on Switch later this summer. Developed by Hopoo Games, Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person shooter style roguelike where you choose a character and team up with up to four friends to shoot baddies and get improved items and weapons....

Overwatch has secured a second straight week at No.1, bringing its total UK No.1s up to five and equalling the 2016 performance of Black Ops 3 and LEGO Star Wars.
