PopCap Games has announced that its hugely successful game, Peggle, is to be released for Nintendo DS this winter. Q Entertainment is working on bringing the game to the DS, which promises new features and new levels that cannot be found in existing PC, Mac or iPod versions of the game. Peggle combines elements of pinball, pachinko and pool to create an addictive casual game experience different to anything else you’ve ever played....

UPDATE: EA has released the first teaser trailer for next year’s Plants vs Zombies, confirming that the game will be revealed during Microsoft’s E3 press conference next Monday, June 15. It has to be Garden Warfare 2, doesn’t it? ORIGINAL STORY: Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 could be revealed today, according to a tease from Popcap’s global marketing director Gary Clay. Teasing the announcement on Twitter, Clay told Plants vs Zombies fans to “be ready for Monday”, and released an image stating: “Get ready to soil your plants”....

The latest PlayStation Plus subscription figures have fallen again, Sony has confirmed. There are two million fewer subscribers than this time last year, despite Sony’s big relaunch of the service back in June. On the other side, Microsoft missed its own targets for Game Pass subscriber growth, but still grew a healthy 28 percent year-on-year. So why has PlayStation Plus failed to emulate Game Pass’ success? Sony said “a greater decline in user engagement among PlayStation 4 users than expected”, but PlayStation 5 engagement remains signficantly higher....

PopCap and BioWare have teamed up to make the Grass Effect parody a reality with the announcement of the Grass Effect Z7-Mech as a pre-order bonus in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. The Z7-Mech comes with tools like the melee Zomni-tool, as well as interlocking ceramic plate armour with kinetic padding. In addition, PopCap has detailed the new Moon Base Z map, one of twelve featured in the shipping game....

Today Muv-Luv publisher aNCHOR shared a new video about its early access game Project Mikhail: A Muv-Luv War Story. The video, starring producer Sho Hamanaga, focuses on the upcoming update that will launch tomorrow, May 19. Like most Rockstar video games, Red Dead Redemption II is a pretty easy game. But gaming might just help us learn more about the coronavirus, says a team at the University of Washington in Seattle. They are using a video game called Foldit to learn more about the virus. Foldit is a puzzle, run by academic research scientists, that is free to play and not for profit....

Resident Evil 3 Remake will let players finish the game with a knife-only playthrough, confirmed Capcom (via GameSpot). This is super news for veteran players of the 1997 game, who are feverish and frothing at the mouth at the prospect of returning to a revamped Raccoon City. In an interview with Game Informer, producer Peter Fabiano described the knife weapon to be “inexhaustible,” unlike the Resident Evil 2 Remake. “We’re dealing with survival horror and everything is exhaustible,” he explained....
