Today on October 4, Overwatch 2′s PvP was finally released in an official manner to the public, but, predictably, there are some kinks to work out. The new move to a free-to-play format likely has tons of curious players wanting to try out the game. As such, those hoping to join the fight are facing login errors, extensive queues, and connection losses....

Blizzard is teasing the return of Overwatch’s Halloween Terror this year, via. the official Overwatch Twitter account, and with a lovely Halloween poem. There’s also a very short teaser video but it features a shot of Reaper and McCree in new skins for the festivities. Halloween Terror will be running from October 10, which is just about a week away. In development MOBA Paragon will enter Early Access on March 18 to those who pick up Founder’s Packs, Epic Games has announced. Founder’s Packs will go on sale from March 14, with prices starting at €19.99. By buying a Founder’s Pack you’ll not only be able to get early access to the game, but also be involved in helping shape the game going forward. In addition, any progress made from March 18 onwards will not be wiped later down the line, giving players a real incentive to get started early....

Paragon, the free-to-play MOBA from Gears of War mastermind Epic Games, is officially shutting up shop on April 26. As a result, players who purchased the game can now request a refund by heading to the company’s official website and linking your Epic account. Originally launching in March 2016 as an early access title via pay-to-play, Paragon transitioned to a free-to-play model in April the following year in open beta form....

After many long years of waiting, Starbreeze, publisher of Payday: The Heist, its sequel and the recently released Overkill’s The Walking Dead, has finally announced a release window for the long-awaited Payday 3. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the sequel is going to be hitting shelves anytime soon. In a press release on its site, Starbreeze listed how it seeks to solve its recent financial issues, citing the release of Payday 3 as an “expected event” that will look to bring in an influx of revenue....

Konami has announced the launch of Data Pack 2.0 update for soccer sim PES 2018, which can count among its additions the inclusion of legendary England player David Beckham. The update, which is a free download, will be available to download from November 16 and counts Mr Beckham among its its headline additions who will be available as a Legend in the game’s myClub mode. The news comes after he was announced all the way back in August....

Sony stealth launches a new online PlayStation store, allowing fans to buy PS4 consoles, games and accessories from the company and not through any other retailer. The announcement was not part of the new State of Play stream where Sony also revealed October 2019’s free PlayStation Plus games and a limited edition Death Stranding PS4 Pro and controller bundle. The Great League is one of the most accessible leagues in in Pokémon Go because of this low CP requirement. The Pokémon Company has announced it’ll be broadcasting a Pokémon Presents livestream next week, with more information on Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The event will broadcast on the official Pokémon YouTube channel at approximately 2pm UK time on Wednesday. Remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are set for November, so we can likely expect a good chunk of gameplay from those. Open world entry Pokémon Legends: Arceus, meanwhile, is currently expected to follow in February....

Prison Architect is getting with the times and then some, trading the science of yesterday for the science of now and a little bit beyond in its newly released Future Tech Pack mini-expansion. Future Tech is the ninth content update for Prison Architect, and gives players the ability to update their prisons with high-tech features and more advanced security. Its big additions include keycard-activated doors, controllable searchlights, and even two robot guard dogs, but players can also make use of glass walls, electrified fences, and a tracking belt - enabling them to follow inmates via the tracking menu, monitors, and routers....

Project Cars 2 has been announced, and developer Slightly Mad is once again turning to its fans to help fund development. “Slightly Mad Studios now turns its attention to the future with the announcement of the continuation of the franchise with Project CARS 2,” reads a post by the studio. “And once again, the sequel will be created, tested, and ultimately approved by you – the gamers – through the WMD Portal crowd-funding platform....

After resting in the Xbox Game Preview program for just under a year, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is properly out now on Xbox One. Like, properly launched with new map Sanhok and everything. Expect some faster-paced matches if you’re used to Miramir and Erangel, because the new map that comes with update 1.0 is a quarter of the size Xbox players are used to. Sanhok is still basically the same as the others, though, because there’s 100 players battling it out / hiding in the bushes for supremacy....

Today Kadokawa Games provided a full breakdown of the season pass for its upcoming mecha strategy JRPG Relayer. We learn that the Season Pass is going to cost 2,000 yen for Japan (which translates into approximately $17. While the price for the west has not been announced, it should not be very different). The CEO of Respawn, Vince Zampella, has apologized for comments that Apex Legends developers recently made on a heated Reddit thread. The whole ordeal came about after various Apex Legends players voiced their complaints about some head-scratching microtransactions. The problems for Respawn began during its Iron Crown event which introduced some event-exclusive skins to Apex Legends. Players had two shots at getting their favorite skin in loot boxes earned during play before they had to pony up $7 apiece for more chances at random loot boxes....

You’d better sit down before I tell you this: in Overwatch 2, Bastion no longer stays still while turreted. Yes, the infamous party-wiping mounted chaingun of a character can now move around while in turret form. Bastion is completely transformed - and is not the only one.
