Pokémon Sword and Shield has begun a 24 hour livestream of Glimwood Tangle, a corner of the Galar Region, for players to look out for old and new Pokémon who live in the woods. Pokémon Sword and Shield will not include all the previous Pokémon in the series, because the new game will use a totally new engine on totally new hardware, and so priorities changed. ‘Now we’re well over 800 Pokemon species in the games, at Game Freak we really spent a lot of time thinking about what the best way to move forward was,’ Junichi Masuda explained....

The world of Pokemon GO has a lot going on this month. March is full of big updates, events, and changes for the mobile AR game. In addition to the recently announced Shadow Bonus that totally changes how Shadow Pokemon will be used in the game, players also have a month full of opportunities to catch different Legendary Pokemon. A popular trans Twitch streamer has had her appeal rejected after receiving a ban from the platform following a live stream criticizing a YouTuber for their alleged transphobia. Clara “Keffals” Sorrenti, well known on the platform for providing news and political commentary to an LGBTQ audience, broadcasted a live stream aimed at YouTube Gaming streamer Steven Kenneth, better known as Destiny. Sorrenti accused Kenneth of holding transphobic views and criticized him for his connection to the controversial chat forum “KiwiForums” which is known for promoting harassment and group trolling....

UK-based developer Automaton Games has unveiled a teaser trailer for its ambitious 400-player battle royale title, Mavericks: Proving Grounds. Sadly, for game that’s inevitably about shooting the crap out of each other, there’s a conspicuous lack of, well, shooting. Right now it’s about all we have to go on, although it’s certainly pretty in terms of visuals. If you look closely, you can make out a soldier running in the background during one of the shots, but that’s about as exciting as it gets....

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is currently on offer as it launches on Steam. Announced at the Final Fantasy 7 25th anniversary celebration, the game is no longer exclusive to Epic on PC and even runs on the Steam Deck. At full price it’s £70 - the same as on Epic (quietly increased since launch) and in line with other Square Enix new releases - however you can save 29 percent as a special launch promotion....

Psychonauts 2 is a lovely game. Whether it be textures or art direction, I think fans are likely more than satisfied by how the game looks. It also has a wonderful PC version, which works out nicely, since I found the game itself to be quite excellent on its own. This list can really be boiled down to nominating the best exclusives for the console whether Nintendo made them, or not. Xbox exclusives ReCore and Sea of Thieves will not be at Gamescom, Xbox chief Phil Spencer has confirmed. The games were both revealed at last month’s E3 but, according to Spencer, the 6-week gap between the two events made it too difficult for the studios to create brand new demos. “[Sea of Thieves] & Recore won’t be at GC, another demo so close to E3 is just tough on production,” he said....

A recent report from Polygon is claiming that some Epic Games employees tasked with the development and maintenance of Fortnite could be working up to 100 hours a week. Given the game’s incredible success and the studio’s keenness on keeping things fresh and entertaining for players, this should come as no surprise. Resident Evil 2 Remake producers Yoshiaki Hirabayashi and Tsuyoshi Kanda have revealed that the upcoming survival horror revamp will not include the A/B scenarios featured in the original game. Speaking with Rely on Horror, the duo confirmed that Leon and Claire will still have separate campaigns, although there zapping system is no longer in place. For those unaware, the original game had two versions of each character’s campaigns. A scenario was the regular version, while the B scenario offered new enemies like Mr....

Although Resident Evil 3 Remake has been rumored for a while now, it was only recently that the game’s existence started to become real. Cover art for the upcoming remake leaked online that featured close looks at the designs for the game’s main characters and main protagonist Nemesis. Given the timing of the leak, many Resident Evil fans assumed that it meant the game would be revealed at The Game Awards next week....

Returnal director Harry Krueger has addressed the game’s difficulty, saying it’s integral to the narrative. Interviewed by Kinda Funny Games, Krueger was asked by Greg Miller for his thoughts on the difficulty of Returnal and its impact on accessibility. “I think we can always do more, could always add more support for different ways to play the game and different control methods and so on. I think when it comes to difficulty, I think it is a question of what kind of experience you are having with Returnal,” said Krueger....

The Department of Fair Employment & Housing for California has issued a press release (via Kotaku) saying that it’s looking to legally force Riot Games to provide information on employee data as part of an ongoing investigation into the League of Legends developer. In November, 2018, news broke that two people were suing Riot Games for gender-based discrimination. A mass walkout at the studio happened last month after Riot looked to prevent the two lawsuits, but Riot ultimately remained strong on its policy of forced abitration....

Riot Games has placed executive Ron Johnson on leave and launched an internal investigation after he posted a Facebook post downplaying the killing of George Lloyd in the US. As first reported by Vice and spotted by Eurogamer, Johnson is said to have shared the post on his personal Facebook that laid the blame for Lloyd’s death on his lifestyle choices through a picture overlaid with the man’s alleged criminal convictions and called his death ‘a learning opportunity for people (and your kids) to teach that this type of criminal lifestyle never results in good things happening to you or those around you....

Overwatch’s Halloween event for 2019 is up and running. New skins, intros, and map details have all been included in the event.
