But if Capcom’s Takeshi Tezuka gets his wish, the two legendary four-player fighting games will share a place on the same system. Tezuka – not to be confused with Nintendo’s Takashi Tezuka - joined Capcom in 1990 as a planner and director for Capcom’s arcade games, where Power Stone was originally released. While he later moved on from arcades to mobile game development, a recent interview with The Guardian shows that that he hasn’t quite forgotten about the gems from his past....

PS4 console sales now stand at “well over 25 million”, SCE Worldwide Studios VP Michael Denny has revealed. Indie developer Tiny Bull will take VR players on an adventure deprived of their senses in Blind which is coming to the Rift and Vive this spring. In Blind, players take on the role of a young woman who has lost her sight and woken up in a room not knowing how she got there. She must now explore a mansion, goaded by the mysterious Warden, using echolocation with sound waves briefly revealing outlines of objects....

Supergiant Games has released a gameplay video, as well as some 4K screens of its newly released title Pyre. In this video, Supergiant’s writer and game designer Greg Kasavin talks through the opening 25 minutes of the mysterious story with PlayStation Underground on their YouTube. One particular high point for me in this video was the Rugby-esque approach to extinguishing the enemies pyre in battle. There are some fantastic animation sequences, and seamless transitions between in-game and cutscenes....

Ubisoft has rolled out a major update for Rainbow Six Siege introducing the game’s first free DLC map, two new operators and a few unexpected surprises, including the release of the game’s Spectator Mode across all platforms. As revealed yesterday, ‘Yacht’ sees players heading aboard a luxury yacht that has crashed into an iceberg in the Baffin Bay, and is available for free to all players. Fox has attempted to settle folk down following the widely-panned reveal of Alien: Blackout, promising more titles from the popular sci-fi series are on the way. Relic Entertainment has abandoned real-time strategy, MOBA-hybrid Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, in an effort to focus on future projects. In a statement issued to Eurogamer, Relic stated that the game, published by Sega, failed to perform to expectations, indicating that it was hard to justify any current and future investment in the game. Dawn of War III was unable to grow its audience, in addition to its dedicated player base being too small to make a positive impact....

Ron Gilbert, creator of piratical point and click adventure series Monkey Island, has made the decision to stop talking about the upcoming release of Return to Monkey Island, following unwarrented abuse from so-called fans. In addition to this, he has closed all comments on his blog. “I’m shutting down comments. People are just being mean and I’m having to delete personal attack comments,” Gilbert wrote. He went on to defend the upcoming release of Return to Monkey Island, Gilbert’s first return to the series since 1991’s LeChuck’s Revenge....
