When Riverdale returns for its third season tonight on the CW, everything that viewers love about the sudsy teen drama based on Archie Comics has been amplified. I can’t believe 2018 is already over. The year went by like a blur, and I feel like I barely had time to touch my backlogged Steam library. I mean, I still haven’t even touched the Rise and Fall expansion for Civilization VI! 2019 doesn’t look like it’ll offer any respite, either. Unlike the PlayStation 4, Sony has taken a much slower approach to unveiling its next generation console. While Microsoft opted to start teasing fans at E3 2019, Sony skipped the show entirely and has been essentially drip feeding fans new information about its PlayStation 5 console. The first reveal came earlier this year prior to the big show, where PS5 system architect David Cerny provided a few technical details, gave a small demo of the potential of the new console, and even hinted that a few first party PS4 titles could be making their way to the PS5 as well....
Last week, Sony jumped on the nostalgia bandwagon by announcing the PlayStation Classic. This console is a smaller replica of the original PlayStation. According to the PlayStation Blog, it will come with 20 pre-loaded games, including Final Fantasy VII, R4: Ridge Racer Type 4, TEKKEN 3, Jumping Flash!, Wild Arms, and more to be revealed later. Last week Hulu announced their long awaited and expected expansion to consoles. Unfortunately, this expansion is a paid subscription to a new, ad-supported version of Hulu called Hulu Plus. Hulu Plus will be opening up the back-catalog of TV shows that the streaming video company hosts to console owners. The subscription will run you $9.99 a month to get the plethora of TV goodness on any device with an internet connection....
Sony is reportedly asking developers to start providing game trials for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers on full-price games. That’s according to a report from Game Developer, citing a number of unnamed sources familiar with the platform holder’s plans. Apparently, Sony has begun contacting developers to inform them of the new requirements. These alleged requirements say that any developer releasing a game with a wholesale price of more than $34 must create a trial lasting at least two hours long....

In keeping with its inspiration, there’s a variety of Furfrou forms for you to collect and each one is obtained by changing your Furfrou’s trim. Certain Furfrou trims are, however, regionally exclusive, so, if you want the complete set, you either need to jump on a plane or trade with a player who has the Furfrou trim you’re looking for....
Niantic has decided to delay Pokémon Go’s March Community Day in Italy, Japan, and South Korea, due to coronavirus concerns (via Siliconera). To compensate for the loss of the events, Niantic ensures that Incense—an item that boosts spawns of wild Pokémon around the player—will be discounted in the shop from March 3 to March 19. Its duration will also be doubled, to let players catch lots of Pokémon even if they are staying at home....
Pokémon Go developer Niantic has outlined its plans on tackling cheating in the popular augmented-reality mobile game. In an update posted to the company’s official blog (thanks, NME), Niantic said it is “continuously work[ing] to facilitate a fun and fair environment” and “[felt players’] frustration about how cheating behaviours” affected them. Its last post on cheating - posted way back last year - was “focused primarily on sharing a broad overview” on the topic, but since then, Niantic says it’s “becoming better” at spotting cheaters....

Thursday morning Niantic announced that it was partnering with the United Nations World Tourism Organization for the first Pokemon GO World Tourism Day event. 18 months after Ubisoft announced plans to bring crossplay and cross-progression to Rainbow Six Siege, their long-awaited console launch is finally almost here, with a release now set for 6th December as part of Year 7’s final season, Operation Solar Raid. Crossplay and cross-progression have, of course, been available in Rainbow Six Siege for some time now, but only between PC, Stadia, and Luna. As of next month, though, that’ll open out to incorporate PlayStation and Xbox, so console owners can take advantage of the features too....
Rainbow Six Siege’s three future expansion packs will be themed around the United States of America, Brazil and Japan, Ubisoft has revealed. The three locations were revealed in a slide from Ubisoft’s Investor Day presentation held earlier today, with all three due to roll out in Q2, Q3 and Q4 of 2016 respectively. Each expansion is expected to introduce two new Operators from the country’s task force and a new map, with all content available to unlock free of charge via an in-game currency called ‘Renown’....
