And that goes double due to Persona 5 Strikers being a collaboration with Omega Force, the developer behind the Warriors franchise. It is clearly an action game. Sega has staple-gunned a release date to the Nintendo Switch version of Phantasy Star, confirming the classic RPG will hit the US and Europe on December 13. Phantasy Star will retail for £5.99 on the eShop, and this particular version is the Sega Ages edition, which means it has a bunch of additional features. For starters, the difficulty is reduced, and you’re able to view every creature you’ve encountered by viewing the new Monster Codex....

The new CEO of PlatinumGames, Atsushi Inaba, has been quite chatty about the company this week. Yesterday, he talked about the company exploring projects that differed from its usual IPs. All the while, Inaba hinted at the company expanding further into live service games. However, that doesn’t mean the CEO isn’t ignoring Platinum’s storied past. In a recent interview with IGN Japan (spotted by VGC), Inaba shared his desire to revive the long-canceled Scalebound, and he wants Microsoft and Xbox to help....

PC players are rushing to find ways to download a popular Grand Theft Auto 4 mod compilation after it was taken down following a copyright infringement notice to the hosting site which provided access to the project. Grand Theft Auto IV - Definitive Edition is a project which complied a number of mods which aimed to enhance and update the game to run on modern PCs (thanks, PC Gamer). The game was last updated by Rockstar in 2020, when the developer removed the archaic Games for Windows Live DRM after it was shut down by Microsoft....

So there’s a bit of a glitch on Steam’s Southeast Asian storefront when it comes to Assassin’s Creed Unity. In some countries, it’s selling for less than a cent, while in others it’s selling for the equivalent of $84,000 USD. We get it: currency conversion is hard. Prices are changing every day and sometimes you just pick the wrong country or the wrong conversion and suddenly everything is going crazy. This Preacher review contains spoilers. Preacher Season 3 Episode 3 While this wasn’t my favorite episode of the season, there’s still a lot to like about “Gonna Hurt.” Production design remains topnotch, from the gothic bric-a-brac cluttering Angelville’s darkest corners to the atmospheric, moody music that ably conjures a deep, mysterious dread. These sorts of touches are all part of the grisly swamp consommé that week after week gives Preacher a bit of extra kick....

We’ve got another game set in Middle-earth on its way, this time from publisher Private Division and Wētā Workshop. The news was announced earlier today from Private Division’s official Twitter account. While details for the project are still under wraps, this could shape up to be an interesting project. Wētā Workshop will develop the title, with Private Division acting as the publisher. PUBG Corp. has announced that gamers and streamers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be going head-to-head in a Charity Showdown later this month. They won’t be competing for a chicken dinner though: Instead, there’s a $1 million prize pool up for grabs, after which the winners will be able to donate to the charity of their choice. 40 PUBG pros and 40 broadcasters will be duking it out in the battle royale event, which will be streamed on Twitch....

The Korean Games Rating Board has come up trumps again this morning, seemingly confirming that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to PlayStation 4. The chicken dinner-loving shooter has been rumoured for Sony’s flagship console for a while now, although this is the closest we’ve seen to a confirmation that PUBG is indeed on its way to PS4. PUBG has been an Xbox One console exclusive for almost a year, so the timing would certainly fit....
