Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out on PC today, and modders are already at it with creating new and interesting mods for the open-world western epic. This would include a mod that makes protagonist Arthur Morgan look like Batman’s arch-nemesis, the Joker. According to PCGamer, modding team RedDeadModders hasn’t given any instructions for installing the mods, since Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC release is just happening today. However, the mod is available on Nexus Mods for those who are fans of Red Dead Redemption 2, the Caped Crusader’s most renowned villain, or both....

With Warner Bros. Games deciding to push Gotham Knights back to an Oct. 25 release date this year, fans are hoping that the additional time for development is being put to good use, with the Court of Owls set to transform Gotham City into their own. Sometimes, going back to one’s roots could be the way forward. At least, that appears to be the case with Remedy Entertainment. In a surprising announcement, Remedy has shared that the studio will be remaking both Max Payne and Max Payne 2 in an agreement with Rockstar Games. Of course, these were the two same parties that gave us the Max Payne games in the first place. Now, the remakes will come under the new publishing agreement and will come to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X....

There’s nothing quite better than a random massive tease on a random Thursday in November. Earlier today on Twitter, Japanese animators Studio Ghibli released a short video simply showing the Lucasfilm splash screen that appears at the start of their movies followed by the Studio Ghibli pale blue screen. The tweet itself from the Japanese Ghibli account has no audio and no text indicating what they might be hinting at. Of course, the comments go wild with ideas of a feature-length Star Wars movie animated by Studio Ghibli, but there are some more reasonable ideas like some Star Wars: Visions shorts....

Resident Evil 7 will be revealed at E3, with Capcom giving the franchise a fresh start and a return to its horror origins, Serkan Toto, CEO of Tokyo-based game industry consultancy Kantan Games has said. “About Resident Evil 7: Yes, it’s in development. The entire game will go back to RE’s horror roots and (essentially) be a clean slate,” Tweeted Toto. “They will show it at E3.” Toto added that joining the Resident Evil 7 development team is Jordan Amaro, a designer who has previously worked at Kojima Productions on Metal Gear Solid 5 and P....

Resident Evil Revelations 2’s Raid Mode won’t be playable online at launch, Capcom has confirmed, with online functionality due to be added “shortly after” the release of the final episode in March. Until then, the mode will only be playable offline in solo or split-screen co-op. “Initially Raid Mode will be offline only (solo OR split-screen co-op). However, online play will be added shortly after the final episode (and retail disc) launch in March,” Capcom explained on its official blog....

Housemarque has offered fans its best look yet at the upcoming Returnal: Ascension expansion in a new gameplay video. In addition to co-op, the free update dropping next week adds a Tower of Sisyphus challenge mode. A nod to the developer’s earlier games, it’s an Endless mode where the challenge gets tougher the higher you climb. You’ll enter the Tower at Phase 1, level 1 and have to battle your way through increasingly difficult waves of enemies....

Justin Roiland, co-creator of Rick and Morty and founder of High on Life developer Squanch Games, will no longer be associated with either project following allegations of domestic abuse. This morning, Squanch Games announced via Twitter that it had received Roiland’s resignation at the beginning of last week. Ongoing support for the Xbox Game Pass hit will continue. At the same time, Rick and Morty’s US network Adult Swim confirmed it had cut ties with Roiland, though his popular animated show would continue....

Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2 will introduce a new ping system. The mechanics behind pinging were detailed in a recent developer blog post on the official Overwatch website. Players will be able to try it out and provide feedback during the PvP beta, which is coming April 26. The implementation of a ping system into Blizzard’s beloved hero shooter has been a feature requested by fans for years. The original Overwatch did have some limited functionality for non-text or speech-based communication, but this mostly consisted of suicidal Genji players spamming “I need healing,” while jumping on top of their poor Ana’s head....

To celebrate the third anniversary of Overwatch, Blizzard has announced they will release a bunch of new skins and other cosmetics. The anniversary event will also bring back most previous seasonal events’ arcade modes. All of this and more is available starting today and will remain in the game until June 10. The Overwatch League has embraced a fan’s crunch time meme after viewers criticized it for a crunch time Cheez-It ad. The Cheez-It ad is just one criticism that fans had for the Overwatch League in season three, as many weren’t happy that streams will be exclusively on YouTube. Overwatch League viewers had been posting on social media about how much they dislike the new Cheez-It crunch time ads. The ads, which are for a segment sponsored by Cheez-It Grooves, have come up in the middle of games– one Twitter video even revealed that one of the ads came up in the middle of an exciting fight....

With the 2019 season for the Overwatch League came the addition of three new awards season categories. One of those new additions were the “Role Stars.” This category touted the best of the best Overwatch League had to offer. Project Re Fantasy, the next title from Persona director Katsura Hashino’s new studio, may have just been confirmed as a PlayStation 4 title. The PlayStation 5 launch has been a bumpy one, not least with plenty of issues from both online and brick and mortar retailers over the past week as they struggle to meet demand for the new console. However, a report from Business Insider (spotted by Video Games Chronicle) has indicated that a big part of the issues have stemmed from scalping groups using botting software designed to purchase the consoles as fast as possible, with a UK based group going by the name CrepChiefNotify claiming to have gotten their hands on nearly 3500 consoles—1000 of those when Sony opened pre-orders back in September, and 2,472 consoles on launch day ready to sell on at sites such as eBay....

PlayStation has announced that it has acquired Destiny and former Halo creators Bungie in a deal worth $3.6 billion USD. The announcement was made on the PlayStation Blog by company President Jim Ryan. “First off, I want to be very clear to the community that Bungie will remain an independent and multi-platform studio and publisher,” he said. “As such, we believe it makes sense for it to sit alongside the PlayStation Studios organization, and we are incredibly excited about the opportunities for synergies and collaboration between these two world-class groups....

PlaySation Plus’ ‘free’ game line-up each month is generally a mixed bag.
