Ubisoft is now inviting players to sign up and try the “early version” beta test of Rainbow Six Mobile. Whilst keen to stress that the mobile devices in “this test do not represent the final list of devices for launch” and that “content and quality of the game are still a work-in-progress”, the developer/publisher says a closed beta will go live tomorrow, 12th September, in select countries: United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines, Singapore, and India....
Insomniac Games has confirmed that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will let players play as the new female Lombax who appeared in the trailer (via DualShockers). This purple Lombax is actually playable, though we don’t know much about her character, nor what sections of the game she will feature, at the moment. I’ll bet money that her name is Ratchette, though. Dimensions are shattering all around Ratchet and Clank, and Ratchet hops from one portal to another portal to discover why this destructive and strange phenomenon is happening....

Overwatch has finally released their newest map to the world. Straight out of the PTR, Busan has been added to regular rotation. The map is the home of D.Va, who has had a string of related content recently, and sees the Overwatch teams battling in South Korea. PES 2016 is getting a playable demo in just 10 days’ time on August 13 on all platforms, Konami has confirmed. The Konami blog confirmed the launch of a demo as well as revealing a new cover, featuring Juventus’ Alvaro Morata alongside Barca’s Neymar. Konami also recently announced the extension of its exclusive UEFA Champions League licence by another three years. PlayStation London Studio has announced it’s hiring for people to work on an online title for the PlayStation 5. The studio’s official Twitter account put out a call to potential applicants today. Details of the unannounced game are of course, very slight at this juncture. However, the roles are far ranging, including a Lead Producer, Lead Level Designer and a Lead Character Artist among the roles up for grabs. So from that we can infer it’s probably still quite early in development....
Today’s Nintendo Direct revealed a lot of surprises - including, of course, the long overdue re-reveal of Pikmin 4 seven whole years after Miyamoto first told us about it - but one of the biggest shocks didn’t even get a place in the western broadcast. It turns out that Clap Hanz just quietly released its latest golf game on the eShop, rebranded as Easy Come, Easy Golf. It’s effectively a re-release of Clap Hanz Golf, which we first saw on Apple Arcade last April, and which was the developer’s first non-PlayStation foray....

Recent laws surrounding loot boxes have required that developers fully disclose the drop rates of items contained within. Niantic, developer of Pokémon GO, doesn’t appear to classify the game’s eggs and raid rewards as loot boxes. As such, it still isn’t revealing the reward rates for these items. According to many, these items should be considered gambling-related items. A recent Reddit post by Beoron explains why Pokémon GO’s eggs and raid reward sound a lot like loot boxes and why that means the developers are breaking the game’s ToS if so....
