The Prince of Persia has returned, at long last, in a limited-time event in multiplayer brawler For Honor (via PlayStation Trophies). Titled Blades of Persia, players will be able to drop in and challenge the Prince in the Ruler of Time game mode. A sandstorm shrouds Heathmoor, wherein the character will occasionally materialise from a whirlwind, and he’s invited his gritty gang to help him take the throne. Games running on the rumoured PS4K (reportedly codenamed ‘Neo’) may be required to run at a native 1080p resolution as a minimum, according to new information revealed by Giant Bomb. Discussing documentation seen by the team on their latest podcast, Giant Bomb explained that “it seems like [Sony] won’t allow a display buffer lower than 1080 in Neo Mode, so these cases of games under 1080 getting scaled up, seems like that will only be a Base Mode thing”....

The first of the four announced Red Dead Redemption content packs that require your wallet now has a release date. The Legends and Killers pack will be making it’s way to your Xbox 360 and PS3 August 10th - just a week away - and will come with a decent amount of content. The DLC will add nine more multiplayer map locations, as well as eight playable characters from Red Dead Revolver....

Capcom has amended its minimum requirements on PC for the newly upgraded Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7. The free upgrades, released after the Capcom showcase, are across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and include ray-tracing, 4K support, higher framerates, and 3D audio. However, the minimum requirements on PC have been raised and Capcom notes that “once the upgrade patch has been applied, the game cannot be restored to the previous version even if the game is uninstalled....

The global version of SEGA’s free-to-play online action-RPG, Phantasy Star Online 2, has just added a new quest that requires urgent attention from players. The quest, titled Castrum Demonica: Madness, requires players to beat back a sea of Supernaturals. The new Urgent Quest comes out alongside Phantasy Star Online 2’s Thanksgiving celebration, which has also just begun in-game.
