If you’re at all familar with the incredible Skyrim modding scene, you might be familar with The Forgotten City mod. Now that mod is being ’re-imagined’ and turned into a standalone game for PC and has today been announced to also be coming to Xbox One via the [email protected] program. The Forgotten City is a murder mystery with a twist, as the underground Roman city in which the game takes place is stuck in a magical Groundhog Day like timeloop, allowing you to replay and manipulate events in order to figure out what caused the deaths of 26 trapped explorers....

There are three major games releasing next week, but without a doubt, Portal 2 is the most innovative and unique of the group (the others of course being Mortal Kombat and SOCOM 4). Outside of its neat story and standalone co-op adventure, Portal 2 is allowing multi-platform gameplay through Valve’s Steam service. PS3 players will actually be able to play online with PC gamers. Vicarious Visions has released a remaster of a level from the original Crash Bandicoot that was once said to be too difficult for people to play. Stormy Ascent was designed by original developer Naughty Dog, but was supposedly ‘too hard’, so instead of being cut entirely, it was hidden on the disc. Despite not being included with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, however, Vicarious Visions has announced that this level will be a free download until August 19....

While 2017’s Prey was a pretty neat Action/RPG from the makers of Dishonored, it wasn’t actually a sequel to 2006’s Prey. However, there was a time when Prey developer Human Head Studios were working on a direct sequel to their cult classic shooter. Until now, details regarding that shooter have been scattered and fairly unsubstantial. Now, though, we actually have video evidence of what that sequel would have looked like. This footage comes to us courtesy of Andrew Borman; a digital games curator at the Museum of Play in Rochester, NY....

Project Resistance occasionally uses a musical theme from Resident Evil 3, sparking intrigue that a Resident Evil 3 remake might be on the horizon (via WccfTech). Project Resistance is Capcom’s latest Resident Evil title, and it’s an asymmetric multiplayer survival game that pits four co-op players against a nefarious player-controlled Mastermind. When it was unveiled at Tokyo Game Show, it was met with criticism by a portion of RE fans who were hoping the game would be a single-player core installment of the Resident Evil storyline....

You can now fly in PUBG. The motor glider is available in to test out in PUBG from now until December 22 (at 7am UK time). It has been added as part of the experimental section of PUBG, called PUBG Labs; the developer is testing its viability in the game. The vehicle seats two and can only get airborne if it reaches 70km/h—the passenger is able to shoot and use throwable weaponry while flying....

One of PUBG’s new Halloween-themed skins has been disabled due to a very explicit glitch. Patch 4.3 arrived on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds last week, and with it brought a bunch of new additions. The new Survival Mastery system tracks a player’s actions during a match to provide them with XP for how good they are at surviving. Progress up to level 500 and unlock new emblems, poses, backgrounds, and BP. On top of that, a new shotgun was added and some general changes were performed to improve shotguns....

Video games have been back under the microscope lately, due to renewed discussions – the term “discussions” should be taken with a grain of salt – on video game violence instigating real-life violent acts, citing the recent mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida as the current prime example. While the debate on video games’ influence on real-life actions wages on, it appears that images and video from a couple of games have recently been used and debated as actual, real-life footage....

Update: The first reveal at X019, Rare took the stage to announce its next title will be a game called Everwild. Showcasing an art style that looks very colorful, the game is said to be worked on by the same team as Sea of Thieves. It will co-exist with updates to the sea-faring adventure as time goes on. While there’s a lot of talk going on about Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 at the moment, we shouldn’t forget about Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The revolutionary sequel has stood out in Capcom’s library since its release, and become a huge seller. The publisher revealed in a new sales report that the sequel has now reached 6.8 million sales overall. That’s just over the 6.6 million it reported back in August, meaning there’s still interest in the horror hit....

It appears as though Blizzard’s hero-shooter Overwatch will soon feature a Mardi Gras event. The Overwatch Mardi Gras event has leaked thanks to Twitter user La Nimi, whose friend had unlocked content from the Overwatch Mardi Gras event by watching Twitch streams. Past Overwatch events have had players watch Twitch streams in exchange for exclusive cosmetic rewards, so it wouldn’t be surprising for the Mardis Gras event to do so as well....

Few games can compete with Persona 5 when it comes to pure style. This is a game oozing class. It’s an artistic achieving, blending the series’ best musical score with an aesthetic that lends itself tremendously well to modern Persona. Of course, by no way does this mean that Persona 5 is exempt from criticism. It’s quite a flawed game and while most will agree that its style is second to none, not all of its designs are that great....

PES 2019’s in-game currency, myClub Coins, will no longer be available to purchase in Belgium, developer Konami has announced. Konami’s decision comes following similar moves by a number video game companies, including Blizzard, Electronic Arts, Square Enix, and Valve. A statement issued by the Metal Gear Solid publisher reads: ‘We fully respect the BGC’s interpretation of relevant laws and made the decision to implement local changes to PES 2019 in Belgium....

It’s been years since Mr. X-COM himself, Julian Gollop, first announced the soon-to-be spiritual successor to X-COM. Since then, Gollop’s Snapshot Games has been hard at work on the future of strategy games, Phoenix Point. After a successful crowdfunding campaign on Fig — where David Gaider’s latest game was recently funded — and a subsequent deal with the Epic Games Store, it’s been smooth sailing for the team. However, high standards demanded the initial September 2019 release date be changed to December 3, as announced on Snapshot Games’ forums....

Pikmin 4 is not only in development, but it may be here sooner rather than later, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto has told Eurogamer. Speaking to the site back in July, Miyamoto said of a fourth game: “It’s actually very close to completion. Pikmin teams are always working on the next one.” Miyamoto’s comments were later confirmed by Nintendo: “We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present....
