With its bright and cartoony world, a cast of adorable critters and easy-to-follow progression, there’s a ‘My First Hand-Holding RPG’ vibe about the whole experience. Or so they’d have you believe. The fact of the matter is, though, there are some super vicious things going on behind the scenes. Over 3 million PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles have been sold in the UK, GAME has revealed. The retailer revealed the figure in its latest financial results, reporting that the two consoles had achieved an install-base of 3 million units by the end of January, “significantly ahead” of its expectations. After Tuesday’s news about publisher Tencent bringing PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds to mobile phones in China, today the first trailer has been released, and it looks a bit different to the game currently on Steam, to say the least. Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2’s open multiplayer beta runs at 900p on Xbox One and 1080p on PS4 – the same resolutions as the original game, according to a report on GearNuke. Shadows also render at a greater distance on PS4, the website claims, while there’s said to be “more aggressive” pop-in found in the Xbox One version. The site also states that lower quality textures are occasionally rendered on certain vehicles in the Xbox One version, but speculates that it may be due to a bug as “it doesn’t appear to be in effect in all the comparisons....

The Nintendo Switch home menu has been harshly criticized by one of the top people at PlatinumGames, as Hideki Kamiya has compared the menu to crap on social media. The home menu of the Nintendo Switch has received almost no updates since the launch of the console in 2017.
