Ron Gilbert has said he’ll no longer be posting online about upcoming adventure Return to Monkey Island. Gilbert made the announcement after he shutting down comments on his Grumpy Gamer blog following what he called “personal attack comments”. Indeed, at the time of writing the entire site is inaccessible, though it’s currently not clear if this is also Gilbert’s doing or otherwise. Gilbert had been sharing behind the scenes insight into Return To Monkey Island on said blog since April....

A group of primary school headteachers has warned parents that they could be reported to the police and social services if they let their children play 18-rated games. As reported by the Telegraph, a letter allegedly sent to parents by the Nantwich Education Partnership last month claims that playing games like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto could lead to “early sexualised behaviour” in children, and that “inappropriate access” to adult games is considered “neglectful”....

Two more games are being given away for nothing by Ubisoft this month, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and World in Conflict. In the case of World in Conflict, it’s (just over) ten years since that RTS was released. It’s also ten years since the first Assassin’s Creed came out, so that’s why Black Flag is a freebie. Both titles will be available for free through Uplay on PC. World in Conflict can be acquired for free from today until 11 December (2am PST)....

Frontier has just announced that “there’s something strange” in Planet Coaster, as a new Ghostbusters-themed DLC pack is coming soon. The pack is said to feature a unique story-driven scenario, as well as new gameplay mechanics, features, themed rides, and iconic Ghostbusters-inspired content. The trailer is brief, but sparks an incredible amount of nostalgia, as we see ECTO-1 drive into shot after an unseen force starts throwing litter around. Tonight is the night when PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds finally comes out of launch and here’s when things are happening. At midnight GMT (1AM CET/4PM PST) the servers will get pulled down in preparation for launch. The servers are going be down for a while, they are not coming back up until 7AM GMT (8AM CET/11PM PDT). PUBG has allowed for an extra two hours and will be keeping their fingers crossed the server opening will go as planned....

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that Apple Music is launching on PlayStation 5 consoles from today. The service joins the existing Spotify application as an alternative service for users to listen to their music. As per the PlayStation Blog, subscribers can access a library of more than 90 million individual songs. There’s also tens of thousands of curated playlists, 4K music videos and Apple Music Radio too. You can also of course make personalised playlists as well....

Today Sony Interactive Entertainment and Destiny developer Bungie announced that the studio is being acquired by the house of Playstation. Interestingly, Bungie shared that they will continue to “independently publish and creatively develop” its games, targeting “fans across multiple platforms and entertainment mediums.​” Below you can read the full announcement: This follows Microsoft’s recent announcement of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which previously published Bungie’s Destiny franchise.

Undertale composer Toby Fox has just announced he will be composing a track for the upcoming and highly anticipated Pokémon Sword and Shield for the Nintendo Switch. The 28-year-old video game developer and composer, known primarily for his work on the critically acclaimed indie RPG Undertale, broke the news himself on Friday morning via Twitter. He tweeted out that he had been asked to compose a song for the latest Pokémon game and described being asked as “a huge honor”....

Pokemon GO has achieved more than 500 million downloads and is now available in more than 100 countries, the Pokemon Company and developer Niantic have announced. The Pokemon Company has announced a new Nintendo Switch bundle to coincide with the launch of Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu. Due out on November 16, the bundle will feature a Switch dock featuring Eevee and Pikachu on the front, plus silhouettes of both characters on the back of the Switch itself. Also included are matching yellow Joy-Con controllers – one for each of the Pokemon’s colour schemes – and the Poke Ball accessory....

In a clip that has since been deleted from Twitch, the streamer performed a Google Image search for the term “Spunk” on-stream, which, as most familiar with the term can probably guess, lead to some NSFW images being briefly displayed on the stream and broadcasted to Pokimane’s audience....
