Palmer Luckey, having been out of the limelight for a while, has returned to the fore with his new latest and greatest idea. Speaking to the New York Times, Luckey has revealed that he is working on a new startup with the aim of making a virtual border wall.
Utilising LIDAR and infra-red, Luckey aims to create a system that will detect and identify people crossing borders into different territories. He believes that mounting LIDAR sensors will be a cost-effective monitoring system.
Luckey said ‘We need a new kind of defense company, one that will save taxpayer dollars while creating superior technology to keep our troops and citizens safer.’
He also really enjoys Orwellian dystopian pieces.
